How to save money in the Parks on food?

What are you going to do? I am on a budget with the economy and all and a family has to eat.

You can always eat breakfast in the room/villa wherever you are staying. There are many quick healthy things you can have in your room. If you fly to WDW..there are grocery services you can use to have items delivered to your room. Also, bring healthy snacks in your backpack/purse if you don't want to spend the moola on snacks. We always bring in our own bottled water each day.
Some people actually make sandwiches in their rooms and take in a soft sided cooler for the parks. That would certainly save money. Then you could budget for ONE meal a day while at the parks. There are reasonable ways to save money on a trip to Disney. I just don't get the drastic means to save a buck on a meal. That is what I meant with my first post.

actually i ordered a chicken dinner at epcot, it was in the land part where they grow those big lemons. Anyway it came with a side of a chicken with veggies and mashed potatoes that was definately enough for 2 people but i ate the whole thing myself with a few desserts a bag of chips and finished off the food left on my 3 kids plates. I guess i got a little carried away. The next day i definately repainted the inside of the toilet bowl. Let me tell ya i sat there with my newspaper for quite a while. I think i got to much sun.

Nah! Those thread starts were posted within minutes of each other. I think that he may have gotten all he could out of the "How Drunk Can You Get At Epcot" thread on the theme park forum and decided to move on to fresh territory.

Two words for you, Nelson: canned corn. :)

I always preferred the MREs myself. It was the sterno I think that got me.

Seriously, bringing in your own snacks is both a money saver and a time saver. Especially when you have kids and they are standing in line for something ready to starve TO DEATH. We freeze water in the room and bring it in - it provides both cooling in the summer heat and something to drink. Disney doesn't care if you bring in your own food, just be aware that taking a table at Cosmic Rays over lunch hour without buying food is bad form.

Pre-dining plan, we used to have lots of threads about how cutting a double burger in half and splitting it, or saying "no fries please" could save you a lot over the course of a vacation.

Well, the most economical way to eat while at Disney World is, don't. :3dglasses We have a breakfast at the resort (or in your room would be even cheaper), and don't eat again until dinner. Those sandwiches in your room will taste good after a full day at the parks. :goodvibes

Note: We DO have water during the day to keep hydrated.

And, yes, I understand canned corn on the steps of City Hall is a nice break in the afternoon as well. ;)

If I could not afford to pay for food on vacation - it is time to reevaluate weather I should be going on vacation.

I don't go nuts but I plan accordingly for a trip and save.
