How To Post Pics on A Thread?

I am confused... I cannot figure out how to post pics I have in "MY PICS" on my computer into a thread.... I see the link to insert a pic (th little yellow box with the mountain)... but I don't know the "URL"... is there a trick that I am missing to this? Please help! THANK YOU!
