How to plan visiting SWGE later in the day

We had hoped to does it SWGE in the evening hours next weekend. I am just finding out about the new virtual queue but was wondering If there was a way to even plan to do this at the time that we had hoped for. Is the queue "selling out" early morning? Is there a chance if we get there later in the day we wont be able to see the land? Sorry just trying to plan and not get hope's up (or down). Thanks in advance!

The virtual queue is only used when needed. It so far hasn't been used at all today.

The Boarding Groups (Virtual Queue) have not been needed today (8/30).

Check the app when you enter Studios to see if Boarding Groups are in effect and plan off of that info.

As insane as it was yesterday, the boarding groups never sold out and SWGE wound up opening to all guests late in the day.

Have you seen where in MDE you can check whether GE is open or forming boarding groups? You can keep watch on that without being in the parks. I think the biggest question mark is going to be changes due to Dorian. People postponing trips may keep crowds especially low for now, but will they be higher than expected next weekend as people reschedule? Based on the little data we have so far, it does look like your chances of getting in without the virtual queue are best later in the day.
