How To Plan For Extra Magic Hours?

My biggest error I made on planning our last trip was that I tried to plan all of our meals, etc., and I messed up. I got an early morning reservation for Cinderella's Royal Table thinking we'd get done when the park was opening. But, I made the reservation for a morning when the park opened early. How can I avoid this this time around? Do I need to wait to do any planning until early entry days are announced? I don't do a whole lot of planning, but I do want to have the basics down. We aren't going until December, but I wanted to get started on our planning.

Because the EMH aren't really set in stone I based my park day planning for our June trip on the EMH schedule so far since there seemed to be a pattern.
