I just received an email from Disney Destinations about a new trial of resort checking in. We're staying at AKL next week. It says if we complete the online check-in, we can forego going to the front desk and head straight to the parks and be texted our room number. We'll be driving though, so wouldn't we need to check in at the hotel in order to get a parking pass?

maybe as part of the online check in process you get to print a parking pass?
or maybe the gates have MB readers and you "tag in " ?

All of the parking lots now have RFID readers at the gates.

They can scan RFID tickets and MagicBands.

They can reveal if you have checked into your resort by way of checking your MDE file.

(I don't know that this is how they'll be checking from now on, but it's technically possible that they can do so.)
