How to meet fellow Dis VMK'ers if you are new to VMK

There have been requests from DIS'ers who are new VMK players, who would love to meet up with other fellow DIS'ers.

The Dis people at VMK are a great and friendly bunch, and there are almost always at least a few of them around at any time when VMK is open. The very hardest part is actually FINDING any of them when you are on VMK. You'd think it wouldn't be, but then again with 1,500+ people on VMK at one time, it's hard to find the dozen or so DIS'ers.

First suggestion: click the globe icon, select popular rooms; then, in the search field, type dis and click ok. Go visit any rooms that have Dis in it, and oftentimes, there will be a few Dis'ers in there. This won't work if everyone is in, for example, Central Plaza.

Second suggestion, call in a search at a "peak" playing time (e.g., in the evening ~8 - 10 pm EST), post on this thread something like:

Hi! New to VMK and looking for Dis'ers, and I'm online right now!

Describe where you are, what you look like, and could a Dis'er please find you, so you can join a bunch of Dis'ers and get them on your friends list.

If you succeed in finding some DIS'ers and have added them to your friends list OR need to leave VMK before anyone's found you please edit your post to say that you've managed to meet up or that you needed to log out. That way, people don't waste time trying to find you.

Once you've gotten a few on your friend's list, it is MUCH easier to find the various groups of Dis VMK people.

(By the way, Bezoar's friend list is at capacity right now, and even after removing everyone who has not played in a week or more, he's not able to add anyone unless he deletes someone else Please understand if I need to turn down a friend request.)

Does everyone here have "dis" in their room titles? I added it to mine after reading about someone here doing that. Makes sense - if you are looking for DIS'ers, having it in your room title will make it easy for others to find you. Just a thought

Thanks cami89 -- that was so obvious and sensible, that I forgot about it. I edited the post to put your suggestion as the FIRST thing new players should try.
