How to manage Genie+ with a group of teens

We decided only last night to do a Christmas week trip with our two teens and two of their friends. So it will be 2 adults plus four teens, who will likely split up from us (in pairs) for the vast majority of the time.

I did secure our tickets and park reservations last night, and I added on Genie+. Since we'll be split up most of the time, will each teen just have to download the Disneyland app on their phone and link their tickets? Anything else I should know about going through the parks like this?

Normally I am a hyper-planner, and now I'm feeling extra lost. We haven't been to DL is maybe 4-5 years or so, and I know a lot has changed. At that time the entire family did everything together and I managed things from my phone. Now things have definitely changed!

I would have at least 1 person per pair download the app. That person (or both, up to them) should have only their own ticket and their friend on the app so there is no accidental LL selection for anyone. You should have everyone's ticket and stuff tho just in case. Have lots of fun!

I would add every ticket to one account, BUT have the teens create their own account and have their tickets on their app so they can book their own LLs.

However, I would AVOID splitting up and keep everyone on the same LL schedule.
Especially since their knowledge of how to use LL will probably be less than yours.
From my experience once teens or guests in your party see how smooth the day is going, they end up staying with you.

My only additional piece of advice is to ask each “pair” what their top priorities are (2-3 rides).

As the planner if you know this, and if those priorities differ you can know when to look for those LL (ie space mountain times get pushed out earlier than others). This way you can book the joint LL for everyone, but if one pair really wants something different than the others you can just book their LL and have a pocket of time you split up.

That is the opposite of my experience. Teens will be better at the technology within seconds. The last thing I wanted to do at that age is hang out with my mom, and I think most teens would rather split up and hang out with their friends (unless they need your wallet nearby lol).
