Hello, I am 11 years old and have been to disney many times. I have a brother who is 8 months old. This is his first Disney trip. By the time we leave for Disney, he will be 1 yrs old. Does anyone have any ideas to make his first trip special?

how about making him a card and leaving it on the bed for him to open when you get there. mom can help open and read

you can sign it and tell him all the great fun he is going to have meeting the characters and you can be his personal tour guide.

have a great time-you sound like a great kid:)

Aww annelise! I love it! XD little A is gonna be so happy
(btw I'm her big sister)

You both sound like wonderful big sisters. I've got a niece who's going to be 1.5 when we go and we've decided to leave little presents for her every night (small things you can get at walmart or the dollar store, or on sale at the disney store) that she can open each morning before we go to the parks and say they're from "Tinkerbell". So far we've got PJs to wear, an autograph book, a light up spinny toy from the Disney store, and a stuffed bean bag of Winni the pooh (her favorite). We're also doing a character breakfast at the Crystal Palace with Winni the Pooh and friends.

No matter what you do, I think your brother's first trip to Disney is going to be wonderful because he's going to have two of the best sisters ever with him.
Have a great time on your trip.

Thanks! My mom and I have read your thread before and thought that was a great idea!

I've traveled with a sweet little one year old, too!!

Things she liked at 11 months old. . .

The dancing fountains you can play in. The ones that come to mind are MK's in the kiddie section (I think it's called Donald's tug boat) and right at the end of future world/into the countries at Epcot.

MK:The Country Bears. Even the teacups were a blast, with no spinning of course. Winnie the Pooh ride, small world, Pooh Playplace. AK: The Nemo Show HS: playhouse disney, muppets. AK: Triceratop spin. Epcot: Journey into Imagination, Nemo)

I think the best way to get them 'into it'. . .and I know this sounds a little silly. . .is to sing theme songs to rides BEFORE you go. You know "yo ho, you ho, a pirate's life for me" or 'it's a small world after all' or 'imagination' (figment at Epcot) that way, when brother hears them at Disney, they are familiar. Trust me, he'll be so excited.

Along these same lines, the playhouse disney show at Hollywood Studios is very fun and interactive, and young ones usually recognize bear/big blue house, tutter, stanley, tig and pooh from watching them on TV.

Her fave character meal by far was The Crystal Palace with Pooh or HS's Little Einstein/Jojos at Hollywood and Vine.

As for tips for mom and dad. . .take your own stoller, they are more shaded and comfy, lollipops for an emergency fuss in a quiet attraction, and those water jugs with a sprayer and a fan. Keeps them entertained for hours. Be Cool patches (the things they sell at the pharmacy for fever)
Familairize yourself with Baby Centers, and take advantage of more 'mature' attractions for cool dark naptime (Epcot: Universe of Energy, The American Adventure. Animal Kingdom: The back, left corner of walkway at Dinosaur. MK: Walt's Dream movie on Main Street, sit right inside the entrance to Pirate's while older family rides Big Thunder and Splash; The Hall of Presidents. HS: right inside Tower of Terror while older ones ride TT and RnR Coaster, the back side of Muppets 4d, inside or actual ride. . .Great Movie Ride)

Hope this helps!! I know you'll make alot of great memories!!

Thanks so much! My mom thanks you for all the ideas. The last time she traveled to Disney with a baby, it was me at 10 months old!!Lol

Don't forget to take lots of pictures too, so when he gets bigger he will be able to see all the fun!

** My 6 year old didnt want to do Splash or any of those, so we went to Tom Sawyer's Island and walked around there!

If you are staying at the values he may have fun playing on some of the bigger than life statues too!

Have fun and keep being a great big sis!

How about getting his first haircut (if he hasn't already) at the Harmony Barbershop in MK? He will get a free pair of ears and a certificate too!
