How to make a reservation with a group (some dining plan and some not)

Can this be done? a group of friends have a trip booked for 8 days with dining reservations made on the dining plan. im gonna fly down and tag along on the last 3 or 4 days of the trip, but I don't want the dining plan I never eat that amount of food or what they limit you to. hes willing to change his reservations to 5 people instead of 4 but will it matter to have 4 people on the plan and me separate? this to me Is really no different than the idea of separate checks but didn't know if this overcomplicated things.

Not a problem at all... Just tell the waiter in the beginning whose paying and whose on the dinning plan...
