"How To Keep Your Husband Happy, Alcohol & Fishing!" April/May '14 TR ~Updated ~ 1/1

As we always do, we get a Picture done on the bridge over to France

John also spotted this little guy on the bridge. He’s really good at spotting them!

And as we came over into France, a show was starting! And apparently I was going to be part of it! All of the chairs needed to be occupied for the show, and then we got kicked out as he handed them to the man doing the stunt. The Chef was using a whistle the whole time, which was funny and annoying at the same time :p

Unfortunately, John didn’t take any photos of ME in the chair, although he swears he did.

Bravo! C’est manifique!

And I was exhausted, from sitting, so a well deserved alcoholic drink was warranted hehe.
I had read on another TR about the Grand Marnier Orange Slush, and we found the QS cart that was serving them. I had the Orange and John had the Grey Goose Citron Lemonade Slush.

We sipped the drinks and walked around France and had some nice photos taken in front of the fountain in France.

It was bright today! Squinty Eyes :beach:

And then it hit me. I didn’t just sip the drink, I DOWNED it. It hit me so fast that when I moved my eyes, they didn’t follow as quickly :drinking1
Lesson learned. I would have more practice later on ;)

We wandered through the countries, looking at the shops, more window shopping than anything. John wanted to buy a Fez for himself and the belly dance outfit for me in Morocco, yeah, that wasn’t happening :rotfl2:

Love the architecture in Morocco.

Pretty Lamp

We finally made it to Japan and waited for the drummers to start at 3:15pm. We spent over an hour in the shop. Needless to say, it’s our favourite in World Showcase. We ended up buying quite a bit! A Sake set, looking at robes and kimonos, domo dolls, anime for John and our favourite, the Pearls. We each did one and I wanted to get a setting done. I had never had one set, but another TR by Pluto0809 (Ariana) had what she called the “Ariel Setting” a pearl in a shell done, and I loved it so I wanted it.

My pearl was 7 ¼ and John got twins! Both 6 ½. This is second time he has had doubles, he had it happen last year. So I got earring studs with those as well.

John’s twins! Mine is sitting on the towel. They put them in the salt and made a Mickey :earsboy:

After spending quite a bit of time in Japan we walked through the rest of countries and checked Norway to see no Frozen merchandise :rotfl:

We walked out of World Showcase to make our way back to Future World.

Up Next: Front Row On Soarin’! Wait, What?

We love the Japan area of WS, too! We always have dinner at Teppan Edo one night and then spend time perusing. :) I will be praying for for your DH! Did you decide to do your solo trip? :)

So how did your well-deserved orange slush drink TASTE? They look yummy! May have to give that a try. :-)

We love Teppan Edo as well :) We have dinner there every trip
Thank you for the prayers. I think my sanity is saved by wireless internet at Kandahar Air Field and Skype :surfweb:
And no, not going to do the solo trip. Decided to wait for DH to get home in October so that we can go together.
We'll be doing a split stay. 3 nights at BC and 7 at WL-CL.

It was absolutely horrible. So bad that I had to try it 2 more times during our trip :p

Really enjoying your TR! The Grand Mariner Orange Slushie looks SO yummy :thumbsup2 I've never had one and probably would drink it fast like you did - alcohol tends to hit me all at once so I'd probably be seeing double lol

Love that you got the Ariel setting for your pearl and that John lucked out getting 2 pearls. Would love to see a pic after the pearls were set :goodvibes

Joining in :wave2: loving everything so far and you are doing brilliantly btw :goodvibes

Loved your AK and seeing the new MagicShots. Am making it my mission to find out what every single MagicShot is for our trip in Nov/Dec.

That Smirnoff iced lemonade sounds awesome. Must try that :)

Your fishing trip looked like a lot of fun, typically what kinds of fish can you catch in the Seven Seas Lagoon?

Your Yachtsman dinner looked delish. How long did it take you to walk from DHS to YC?

What does the Ariel setting look like? Am obsessed with PaP

Looking forward to reading more popcorn::

I learned after the first experience, to savour the Orange Slush... :lmao:

I will take a picture of the pearls in their settings and post them up :)

If you try the Smirnoff Raspberry Lemonade, I believe there was a cart near where the PP photographer takes pictures of Everest on your way to EE.

The walk from DHS to YC was about 15-20 minutes. We took the long way over to the YC club once we got to the Boardwalk though, so it took a little longer.

Here's the Pearls in their settings.

The Ariel setting is Sterling Silver and is just a charm. The earrings work perfectly because they are the same size and not too big. I had to splurge and get the 14k gold backings, as I can't wear silver earrings.

I have never seen the finished product with the pearls....very pretty! :)

I think they are very pretty too! And of all the times we have done the PaP this is the first time I decided to get something made.

They have another charm I would like to get that has a horseshoe, I would like to get that made for my mom for Christmas. So I hope they still have it when we go in October.

Updates are in process.
A little stressed out right now with life.

Found out that they asked John to stay until December... he has asked for the 2 weeks in October for our WDW Vacation. I'm crossing my fingers they approve it.

My MIL is in a nursing home and on Medicaid and apparently the person who was handling her case didn't put all of her income in and it's messed up her case, and she was transferred to another home on 06/11 (I had to drive her the 3.5hours to the new home, and with my anxiety and everything going on, I'm surprised I didn't just drive off the road). And now we got a bill from the old home for $4000 in my husbands name because of the Medicaid mess up.... and who gets to deal with it all? Me, because he's over in Afghanistan and his sister, while she says she is doing stuff, isn't.

My puppy Anna, the German Shepherd is still in a biting phase and has ripped holes and bruised me to no end and I'm frustrated and in pain from her. Plus, when I was a child I was bitten by a dog and had to get stiches (thankfully the scar is behind my ear...the dog ripped my ear almost off). So the biting doesn't help with my anxiety...again.

And then there is my anxiety. I'm at that point where I just don't care right now. And it's hard to do anything.
My rock is halfway across the world, my parents live 10hours away and I leave any counselling sessions more angry than when I went in. I don't know how it's helping me.

Wow, sorry for the vent, but I just needed to get it out there without my friends and family judging me on another social media site.

Oh no! I'm sorry everything is spinning crazily right now. Hoping everything gets back on track soon and that John's vacation time is approved! It's sounding like it'll be well-needed. Hang in there! :-)

So sorry to hear things are going rough! I will be praying for you and for John! Anxiety is difficult to live with, especially when your comfort is not easily accessible. God is trying to strengthen and grow you through this experience. Take care!!!

Thanks! I'm trying to. Things have settled down a bit, and John's travel dates went back to what they were originally, so he will be home for October and our trip :)

If this is a test, I'm failing miserably right now
Thanks for your concern... I'm taking everything one day at a time.

Now that we had finished walking around the world, it was time to go back to Future World. We had a FastPass for Soarin’ at 4:00pm. This was the first time that we had actually gone into the Land building. Most times we would see that all Fastpasses for Soarin’ were gone so we didn’t bother going in. Now with FP+ we had no excuse not to!

We ran into these crazy two on the way over to the Land.

And then to here…

We arrived for our Fastpass time at 4:06pm and a woman and her friend ahead of us got the Blue Mickey. Their FP was for 4:15pm, and the CM just overrode the system. Lucky them.
This was our first time on Soarin’ and we were directed to Concourse 1 and in Section A and the last 2 people for Row 1. YES! I knew this was good from other reviews, that we wouldn’t have feet in our view. Even the family of 3 ahead of us was telling us this was the best row to be in. Great! Now I was excited.
When the CM came out to explain that Row 1 would go in, then Row 2, etc. etc. After his spiel he turned his back to walk into the theater and when he did, 3 people from Row 2 butt in front and went ahead of Row 1 as the person wasn’t paying attention. The family of 3 ahead of us, and myself both yelled out that Row 1 first! When we got in, we were obviously 3 seats short, and we were telling the CM that the first 3 people should not be in those seats. The CM politely asked if they should have been in Row 2, and the people flat out lied and said no! Well as you can imagine, myself and the father of the family were not going to have any of that and we got loud, and the CM again asked again if they were in Row 2 to move to Row 2. The 3 people reluctantly got up and went to their proper seats. SHEESH! I tell you the nerve of some folks! :sad2:

I really enjoyed the ride, especially the scents. John liked it, but he has bad allergies and couldn’t really smell anything, so it was more of a movie for him.

Since we were in the Land building, and again being our first time in there we walked on to Living With The Land.

From reviews I heard it was a nice gentle sit down that was air conditioned
John LOVED the ride. He was pointing out all the different fruits, vegetables, and herbs. I don’t think I have ever seen him so passionate about veggies.

Found 4 Hidden Mickeys in the Land…although some are pretty big ‘hidden’ Mickeys

When we were finished with our fun times in the Land, we headed over to the Seas with Nemo.
We found a PhotoPass photographer over there, and had some pictures taken.

John loves those seagulls. MINE! MINE! MINE!

We went into the line for Nemo and I got a Red Card, WOOHOO! Love those things :)

Although why I got one I have no idea…. We literally walked on and I had no time to take pictures of the queue and a blurry one of the red card or else we would have been walked over by the people behind us.

Blurry Red Card

I took a lot of pictures of the scenes where you can see into the Aquarium, as John and I would be diving there in a few days.

We can wave hello to people on the ride when we dive in these windows!

After the ride we went and walked around the aquarium and said hello to Bruce and the Gang!

Mr. Ray!

Mickey!

This always reminds me of the cheesy Jaws 3 :happytv:

On our way to Innovations and the Character Meet John spotted another one of these guys!

Up Next:We Meet Mickey, Goofy and Minnie! And Mickey and Goofy?

I can't believe the 3 on Soarin'. How rude! Glad they finally did the right thing and moved. :-) I love Soarin but my husband could take it or leave it. How exciting that you were able to dive- can't wait to hear about that!

Good for you for insisting that those seat cheaters didn't get your seats. I'm sure that a lot of people would just let them have it to avoid a big confrontation. But I think I would have been vocal about it, too, since I really hate that kind of unfairness.

I can't wait to read about your dive. :)

For goodness sakes! Some people have no manners at all! I am glad the CM sorted it out for you. :). Love the Chip and Dale photo - they are two of our favorites!!!

I can't believe the nerve of people! And to flat out deny it as well? Like the family in front of me would have been split up like that on purpose... yeah right.
I liked Soarin', and I like Test Track (we didn't do it this time) so I'm not sure what Tier1 we will FP in October since John really couldn't care less for either.
Oh! I know.... I pick them all anyway, so he'll ride what I choose :rotfl2:

Oh I was vocal...John gets embarrassed sometimes, but this time he was like "Go get them!" :thumbsup2

I will try and get some screenshots from the video from the dive, since we cannot take underwater cameras during the dive.
And the dive is really interesting, but it's still a few days away in this trip, so might be a while before I get to it...but it's definitely worth it!

We are diving again in October :)

For goodness sakes! Some people have no manners at all! I am glad the CM sorted it out for you. :). Love the Chip and Dale photo - they are two of our favorites!!!

We only saw Chip and Dale once at Epcot and then at MK.

Sorry to hear of all the issues at home. That must be very stressful for them to extend John's tour ... I would just think you would be mentally prepared for a certain duration and for that to change, ugh. Hope things work out with him being able to come back for your October vacation

Hope things work out with your MIL as well - dealing with finances for families and medical stuff is just never fun and always twice as hard/complicated as it should be

But onto funner things .... oh wait, first, how annoying about those people trying to cut rows on Soarin! and then to lie about it! Good thing to speak up. I probably would have let it go and then been annoyed about it and wished I had said something for the rest of the day

Glad you finally got on the ride though and that you went on Living with the Land - that is one of our favorites!

And how cool that you are going diving and got to see where you will be diving - getting to see it from both sides is pretty cool!
