Easy, just tell a million, zillion, people on these boards, (that you know DH doesn't read), that you just booked him a surprise trip in December for his 50th b-day. This way you don't go nuts trying to keep it in, you just let it all out, nice and easy. I've booked seven days at AKL, CP, and ADR's and many more surprises. We'll maybe, with your guys' help. See, I'm all out of ideas. The Plan is to tell DH my little surprise on his b-day, Dec.7, then when he wants to know when we're going, I get to say, in two days! :dance3: And then we do the happy dance :dance3: . And then we (I) pack like a mad woman, for two, real quick. Thank you to everyone, all million, zillion of you, for letting me share my secret, not sure I could have done it without you. :grouphug:

YAY! That's so exciting! What a great surprise. Now...do you really think you'll be able to keep that from him for three months?? I would just burst!

Well done! :goodvibes

I really hope all the secrecy doesn't make him think you're having an affair, though :rotfl2:

Very cool...but have you managed to get his time off from work? Everytime I think of doing this for BF...even a weekend trip...I get into this dilema...how did you do it?

You have more restraint than I do. I set up a special treat for DH for this coming trip - I couldn't make it thru the day without telling him.

:thumbsup2 Kudos to you for your willpower!

Wooohoooo I love surprises!!! :cool1: And don't worry about us spilling the beans - what happens on the DIS boards, stays on the DIS boards!!! ;)

Oh my gosh! I tried to do the same thing. I told DH I was planning a vacation for January, but I wouldn't tell him where or what we were doing. We could have gone to Hawaii, Europe, on a cruise.... but I think he knew I wanted to go back to Disney World.

Anyways, I couldn't keep it a secret so I spilled the beans. I'm so bad at keeping secrets. I didn't even last 3 weeks!!! :rotfl2:

He does know we are staying in a moderate becasue I didn't want him to be disappointed that we couldn't afford the BC this time, but he doesn't know it will be the CBR.

I've never been able to do it before, DH used to work in retail, but recently started working for an old neighbor of mine so I was able to call him and make sure it would be ok.

That's another great thing about this trip for us, because of DH's old job the holidays were always black-out days for vacations, this will be the first time we've ever been able to go and see all of the decorations and special events that go on. I'm Jewish, but DH is Catholic and recently lost both of his parents within a year of one another, Christmas is a special time for him and this is something he's always wanted to do, but never could.

I want to give him the best birthday gift possible.

But I am, everynight from now until December, with a million, zillion people. :rotfl:

AWW so sweet. Last year I booked plane tickets to NY for DH and all my step children. I told the kids so they had to keep the secret to. They did great and one week before Christmas we gave him the tickets. The surprise on his face was so worth the agony of keeping the secret. We spent Christmas with his Parents. So keep the secret the rewards are awsome.:cool1:

That sounds great!!! I know you will both enjoy the trip! Good luck in keeping your secret...look at it this way you only have to keep it quiet for 3 months...DH & I are planning a surprise birthday trip for our DD's next June...10 months from now...they will be 11 & 4...it is so hard to keep quite!! I know you can do it!!

A little tear just reached my cheek....DH & I have been going to WDW since '71.
You really brought back such "beautiful memories" for me!!! :cloud9:

Back in the 80's, I made ressies for a surprise trip...... with my bonus $$ that I told him I didn't get :rolleyes1 .....a year in advance @ the Poly for hubby & me too!!

Kept my mouth shut for 8 mos.....Gave it to him...that Christmas for a present and WOW..how thrilled he was!! :thumbsup2
What a great time we had.. :woohoo:

He's gone now...but I have many, many "beautiful" memories !! :cloud9:
Life is soooo short...savor every moment!! :flower:
