How to go up a pant size in 5 days! Disney Foodies at their finest :) UPDATED 2/1

So glad to hear that the peanut sauce is relatively the same! Woo!!

We are in Somerset...south of Boston. I just noticed that you are in Portsmouth!! It's one of my favorite little cities!! DH and I visit a few times a year!!

Ladies, I'm going to crash your New England party to say I'm in Portsmouth too :thumbsup2 I'm a habitual lurker, but had to say, I was just about to make an adr at Sci-Fi as I was reading your review (and reply) and quickly decided against it! Taking my son on a mommy and me for February vacation in a few weeks and I thought it'd be fun to try. Think we'll skip it!

Hi
I don't think you should skip Sci-Fi. It's worth it to go there at least once. We usually just get an appetizer, drinks or a dessert, since I heard the food isn't that good. Our appetizers have always been good and they have a delicious chocolate milkshake!! Also, I've read that people usually like the hamburgers there. Have a great time!!

Thanks for the suggestion! If I had a normal 6 year old boy, I'd totally try it out - he would like the milkshakes...But, my guy's favorite meal is salad! Forget burgers or onion rings or any of that "we can have this only because we're on vacation" fun food! He gives me NO good excuse to splurge on my own because he won't even share with me! :rotfl:

We are going to go with AKL...we really liked Bay Lake a lot, and we still hope to use our points at BLT once in a while, but I just love the theming of the AK rooms!!

Congratulations and Welcome Home!! Great choice, we love AKV too. I love the ability to book the Club Level at Jambo at the 11 month window, such a treat. Maybe we'll run into each other again soon!!!

Cyndi

I'm also in NH. :). Bedford. Love Portsmouth.

I booked sci fi. I have 2 per teen boys and I think they'll love it! We plan to get milkshakes and kids meals. I figure that's a great way to experience the restaurant

Oh yes, I have friends in Somerset! Isn't Portsmouth great, I love it!

Hi! I have to admit, I actually moved from Portsmouth and I am now in Stratham, I need to change it. I love being inbetween Exeter and Portsmouth though. Yeah, if your son isn't into burgers and likes salads it might not be the best place, which is a bummer because the atmosphere is fun!

I actually hear the burgers there are good, but I can't review them since we didn't get them, ha! I think teem boys would get a kick out of it. And I love Bedford, I work at the Bedford Village Inn often for weddings.

joining in :goodvibes

Welcome!!

Alright...finally, after 15 trips to Disneyworld, we tried Earl of Sandwich! We had never managed to make it work for some reason, but now I think I will find a way to make it work every trip! :rotfl:

I will admit I was hoping the Holiday sandwich might still be lingering, but it was not. So DH and I decided to get something we both liked and share.

To start, I got some potato salad:

I thought this was tasty! Not a ton of onions either, thankfully. DH got the cheddar cheese soup:

There was some type of meat in it, maybe bacon or pancetta or something? I couldn't quite tell, but it was good.

We got an Italian sandwich:

And the Hawaiian BBQ:

Both were good, but I think the BBQ was better. Loved how soft the bread was, and the prices here are great! We will definitely return!

Another New Englander checking in here! Brockton, Massachusetts to be exact =3 Isn't it funny how us New Englanders flock together XD Going to WDW in March for our first stay at AKL and we can't wait! Our first meal will be at DD16's favorite O'hanna. I really loved O'hanna the last(and first) time we ate there, and our server was awesome! He was attentive, kept refilling drinks and had a playful personality. When I asked for just one more scoop of ice cream for my bread pudding he left and came back with a bowl that had at least 7 scoops in it covered in Mickey sprinkles! That sold me on this place and we are hoping for just as magical an experience as we had the last time. It's our first ADR the day we arrive =D

New England is such a small little universe!!! LOL! Great EoS review! There is an EoS in Boston Common now. Hoping to get there this summer to try it out and compare w/the shop in WDW. Of course that's just an excuse to eat an EoS sammie. We all know it'll be awesome! ::yes::

You are right up the road from us! :moped:

Mmm, I love the Italian sandwich at EoS and DS loves the Hawaiian BBQ! DH is all about the Earl's Club and we all agree it's the best bargain for a meal at Disney.

Enjoying your reviews and pics! :thumbsup2

Next up...Germany in Epcot!

First we stopped at my favorite caramel shop...sorry the treats are so bright!

IMG_0439_zpsb68470ab.jpg

I ended up getting a caramel covered chocolate cookie but forgot to take a picture! I love caramel and I have never had a treat here I didn't like!

We had lunch reservations at Le Cellier, but had a last minute change of heart and decided we wanted to eat at Biergarten.

I love this restaurant, and my husband agrees! I got some buffet pictures, sorry I didn't get ore, but I admit I felt a little awkward taking oictures up there with so many people in line!

Here is my plate, I got spaetzle, cucumber salad, macaroni salad, a sausage, pork schnitzle, a pretzel roll and some green beans.

DH got mostly the same, but some brussel sprouts, meatballs, more sausage and cheese soup:

I hugely regret forgetting to take dessert pictures here. But the pear cheesecake bar was to die for, and I also enjoyed the apple strudel and other cheesecake thingy :) Here are a couple pics of the restaurant and show:

Great report! We love Beirgarten!

My DH and I were also there without our kiddos at the same time as y'all! :)

Love the reviews! DH and I ate at California Grill a couple weeks ago and I think we had the same table as you. I definitely had the same gnocchi and told DH it might have been the best thing I ever tasted in my life. Loved seeing the picture of it. Oh, that poached egg! I also had the oak fired filet and while the filet was good, I really disliked the purple mashed potatoes.
