I have to wake up super early tomorrow morning around 3:30, so I'm gonna try to go to sleep around 8 or 9. I gotta depysch myselft though so I can actually fall asleep! Any tips?

I'm usually up late packing, and then can't sleep because I'm so excited! I can't wait to see others' suggestions :flower:

If you have a tv within ear shot of your bed, turn on the History Channel, or TLC or something similar. Turn the volume low enough to barely hear it. Concentrate on listening to whatever is on with your eyes shut. It will help you not to think and bore you to sleep! Works for me all the time when my mind is racing and I can't fall asleep. No tv? A talk radio station would have the same effect.

Usually when we are about to go to Disneyland the following day.. I would have trouble sleeping. To remedy this, I would usually workout the night before just to get my body real tired and I have no problem sleeping afterwerds. Hope that helps!

Long ago, I heard of a method for falling asleep. It always works for me.

Think of any category and go through the alphabet naming objects in that category.

For instance...

Movies...Almost Famous, Bad News Bears, Creepshow, etc...
Foods....Almonds, Banannas, Celery
Baby Names I like...Amelia, Bethany, Corinne

The categories are endless. I never make it past the letter 'm' or so. I think it works because your mind is soooo engrossed in thinking up these things that you forget what's keeping you awake.

Good luck!!

I've found that a glass of wine works well, and in the absence of that, a shot of Nyquil will do the trick too.

Hi!

I usually don't sleep. I'll be up double checking the luggage to make sure I don't forget anything. Laying out the clothes for the next day and by the time I get tired and decide to grab some zzzzzz's...it's time to get going! :moped:

I wish I could help here..we usually can't sleep more than 2-3 hours the night before our Disney trip.

Barely any sleep here, Always feel like I forgot something. Just nap on the plane & when I get to WDW I get a second wind. That first nite there I usually sleep really good.

I usually don't sleep much either. And usually right when I finally get to doze off, the alarm goes off.....LOL

I concentrate on relaxing my body. I start with my toes and work my way up. I usually don't make it to my shoulders. If I make it all the way to my head I just start over.

I go to sleep so late and then I am so tired I fall asleep. :rotfl2:
And always wake up early, without the alarm clock!! Too excited! :Pinkbounc

3 glasses of wine should do the trick

or some prescription anti-depressants, haha

I don't have a suggestion, but I could use one! We're going in 4 days, and I can't believe I'm actually going to try to sleep the night before! :confused3

I have a small digital radio I place under my pillow. I brought a cheap headset from Walmart you can use only one earpiece at a time if you want to. I listen to soft music, or talk radio. Good thing I have rechargable batteries because I fall asleep and forget to turn the radio off. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the great suggestions! Ill let you know how they worked when i get back from my trip! BTW Cats Rule- i LOVE that picture of puss in boots, he is soooo adorable :)

These will come in handy for us tomorrow night! I was thinking we may head to the movies when DH gets off work tomorrow. We are packed and ready to head off! So no worries there. Just pure excitement!!!
