How to go about renting a fridge at the Pop?

We will need a fridge to store milk when we stay at the Pop in July. I know it is $10 per night to rent the fridge...no problem. We need milk for the baby's bedtime bottle (he will be 14 months old at the time and on whole milk not formula), and milk for cereal in the morning so we can get out to the parks early and not spend time waiting at the food court for breakfast only to eat the same thing. Do I go through my travel agent who I booked the trip with and have her make the request for me? Call Disney directly? Or wait until I check in and then request it at that time? What is the usual procedure?

Thank you,
Bonnie

I would call my travel agent now and put in the request. I think the cost of rental went up to $11.00 but I am not sure about that. I definitely wouldn't wait until check in.

We've stayed at a moderate and it has a complimentary refrigerator. I found that the money we saved on not having to rent a fridge and the money we saved on breakfast foods and drinks (stored in the fridge) made up for the difference in the cost of a value plus fridge rental. Plus, the rooms at a moderate are larger.

The reason we are not staying at a moderate is because it is at least $40 more per night than the Pop at that time of year, so the whole 5-night trip would cost $200 more to stay at a moderate rather than the $55 extra to rent a fridge for $11 a night. I know the moderates have rooms which are slightly larger than the values, but honestly there are not enough differences for us to pay that much more for the room, plus the value resort is really what is in our budget for this year. If I could I would have gone with a monorail resort but it was just not do-able for us this time around. I really prefer an interior corridor because I am afraid of Florida bugs, but that is another issue and we couldn't afford over $200 a night just for that. We preferred to stay on property to take advantage of the little extras for those only staying on property, plus neither of us ever got to stay on property when we were there years ago. So a clean room on property was all we really focused on this time. We are also planning on having breakfast in the room most mornings to save $$. We are only doing 2 character breakfasts because of the experience for the kids and we decided to save money and time by having cereal in the room the other days. It's probably what we would have grabbed anyway at the food court, but we can avoid the lines at the food court and save a ton of time, plus money by bringing our own.

I will be calling my travel agent on Sunday when she is in (she's off today so I couldn't call and she's also off tomorrow). I will ask her to request a fridge for us. Thanks for all the info!

Be aware the fridges are very small dorm size ones. Maybe get a half gal milk in there at one time.

We did not have any trouble getting 1/2 gallon of milk (in the door), several bottles of water, and at least 2 if not 3 carry-out boxes in the main section...I have heard reports of the fridges that you get for medical reasons can be very small though.:confused3
