How to get to Queen's Staircase-Nassau?

I would like to see a couple of historic sites while we are in Nassau but don't want to spend 2 hours on the historic tour.

Has anyone walked to the Queen's Staircase and Fort Fincastle? How far is it from the ship and is it fairly easy to find with a map? Or could we take a taxi? Approximate cost?

We walked it last year and stopped by the post office on the way back. It really wasn't bad.

we took a city tour for 22 dollars a person. I hate to say it but this is only my opinion. it wasn't worth it. the historical sites they take you to is a market just to buy things. we just had a bad experience. it sounded so cool to me I love history. Thumbs down.

also when you get off the ship, there are these stands that look like newspaper stands, and inside these are some really nice maps that are free, and then they also have ads and coupons. I always grab a few. Then afterward i post out here to anyone who wants one to let me know. Sorry i don't have any left, but i think the things you are wanted to see will be easy for you to do on your own. good luck.

Killer Tomato--Thanks for the link. I printed out both the map and the walking tour. Looks like the Queen's Staircase is about 1/2 mile from the ship.
