How to get to Chef Mickey's for 7:15 ADR?

I've read the bus transportation starts running an hour before park opening, so I'm thinking a taxi might be best for our ADR. Other ideas? Can't wait to eat with Mickey and the gang again!

NO! That would be a waste of $$. I have asked the concierge and they tell people this because there is no need to be at parks any earlier (their words). But buses run EARLY so people can get to reservations.

Oh, I meant to add as well, the buses run early but not as many. Therefore you will need to be at your bus stop an hour before your reservations.

And with a 7:15 am ADR, that is why a cab is the best way to go. Instead of having to be up and at the bus stop at 6:15 am, you can catch a cab at the resort front entrance at 7:00 and still be on time for the breakfast.

What she said.....this is what we do too. Ssleep is priceless IMO and if an $8 taxi cab can buy me an hour sleep, sign me up! :thumbsup2

the most reliable mode is cab at that hour.
Even the monorails do a safety check in the morning and can slow you down. The kids and I took a cab and DH followed along later using the monorail. They were doing a long safet check and he was 15 minutes late to breakfast...

So yup if its important and you dont want to depend on public transportation first thing in the morning take a cab.

Everytime I have an early ressie, I take a taxi. It will set you back about 20.00 and they only take cash.

The issue with the buses is that the early ADRs at parks are at 8am only the resorts have the 7am ones. We take buses for the 8am but I would definitely take a cab for 7am ADRs because getting from the bus at the park to the resort will take some time doing monorail or walking and having buses come much before 7am seems very iffy in terms of making/missing what may be the only very early bus.

I give the OP credit for attempting to be in a restaurant at 7:15 on vacation.:scared:

I agree with so many others. For a 7:15 AM ADR I would take a cab. It will be under $20, but I do not know the exact route, nor the exact taxi fare. For our last trip I budgeted taxi fare from the Boardwalk to AKL for dinner at Jiko. I saved a little bit each week over many months and the fare was not a problem.

I have never taken a taxi. Not much use for them in rural KY. :rotfl: SO! I have a few ?'s.

Taxi's provided by WDW or do I call a taxi company?

Or are they just sitting out there?

Do you tip taxi drivers? if so, what is the standard percentage?

I'm in the rural part of southern Ohio, I know where you're coming from!!!!!

There have usually been cabs waiting outside the WDW resorts, but if there isn't, the front desk should be able to get one for you.

I think you tip the driver, but I don't know how much. I'd say a couple of dollars, but......you know the part of the world I come from!

I can tell you from the GF to DHS is was $13... From the GF to AK it was $18

I hope those estimates help you. We always tip a couple of bucks over... no real %

But you figure 18% is the golden rule for Disney tipping so for a $20 that would be $3 tip :rotfl:

Since your ride will most likely be under $20... go from there.
