Hi all,
from recent experiences can you tell me how to ensure you stand a good chance of getting the room you want at Port Orleans Riverside.
I am coming over in Oct from the UK and have booked thru "Virgin Holidays"
I have have requested a non smoking room near the main buildings thru Virgin, but am not sure how much they get a say with the resort.
From reading these threads most people seem to put the same request in.
I've heard that the resorts are now ignoring faxes sent to them about guests prefferences.
Any experiences and ideas greatly recieved, thanks.

Kevin.

If you made your arrangements through a travel agent they would have to make the requests. You can always ask again at check in. If you keep in mind they are only requests you will have a great time.

We booked through a travel agency for our honeymoon and even through most rooms have 2 queen beds in the deluxe rooms, we requested a King bed and a lagoon view room and they did listen. You shouldn't have any trouble.

In November we requested specific buildings for both POFQ and CSR by just calling Disney directly. We were pleased with our rooms locations in both instances. Note that Disney does not guarantee that your request will be met but they do try hard it seems. In POR, I would recommend requesting building 85, which is Magnolia Terrace. It's in the mansion section and is central to the main pool area on 'Ole Man Island as well as the food court. It's also a very pretty location. If you are needing the trundle bed however, you will be placed in the Bayou section and I have not stayed there. However, from the map it looks like building 14 would be your best bet. HTH! :flower:
