How to get the most out of Mickey's Very Merry Chirstmas Party?

Are the characters at Crystal Palace decked out in holiday attire?

Any tips on exiting the party and returning to the resorts?

If you stay at BWV and come "home" late (midnight) after the party - are other people around or is the resort empty (I've stayed at the boardwalk before and on a usual night (no special events like the party) the place is EMPTY at about 12 midnight - NO ONE to be found. I don't like the idea of returning to the hotel alone with one child if this is the case. How has it been for others coming back after the party??

When we went last year all of tomorrow land was open during the change over except Space Mountain (They were inspecting the tracks with the light on. Ride the people movers if you are interested). They also had a bonus performance of Mickey's Night Before Christmas and a band playing. We arrived at 4pm and entered with just our MVMCP tickets. We will need to wait and see if the policy holds true this year. We should get an indication based on MNSSHP. What we did was do adventure land, frontier land, and see the regular stage show before the MK closed to day guests. We also were able to see FITSF before one of the parties.

During the hour while the was taking place we saw Mickey’s Night Before Christmas and rode rides in Tomorrow land. As far as the parades, we like it so much we want to see it twice. The early parade we just do the best we can at the last minute. For the later parade we try to stake out a good spot. If you have the stamina, after 11:00 pm is a good time to do some more rides. Finally, there is a midnight production at the castle stage. By saving this show to last you can extend your night even longer.

In one night, we were able to do most of the Magic Kingdom, watch most of the special shows (a couple of them didn’t appeal to us), watch the fireworks, and see the parade twice. We are a group of adults so with kids you may not be able to move as fast.

We're planning to stay till the end of MVMCP (going on Tuesday, 12/9). At that time of night, the only way back to BWV will be the bus....anyone able to share what their experiences with the bus transportation is like with everyone exiting at once? Or will it be less crowded since we're waiting till the end.

Also, do they herd everyone out quickly at midnight? Does everything shut down right away (i.e., the shops, etc.)

Thanks!! SOOOOOO excited!!!!! :bounce:

You know what? I was wondering the same thing! Do they herd you out at the stroke of midnight or can you sort of stroll along at your own pace? we are renting a vehical so we don't have to wait for the bus but on other ocasions where we've closed down the parks...the buses were VERY busy and took a while to get everyone on one. See you all at the mvmcp on the 9th of December! HM

We are going to our 1st MVMCP on Dec. 19 (myself, DH and DD9)!!! All the info on this post has been very helpful, thanks everyone! I am now even more excited to be going!!

beattyfamily, What time were you able to get your PS at CP? I tried to get us a PS at LTT and the earliest they had was 7:50 so I said no thanks. I am planning on calling for CP at our 90 day mark and am hoping to get a PS for around 5:00-5:30 range. Do you think this will be possible?

I had LTT at 5:05p for 8 people but had to add a person so at my 90 day mark I switched to CP and got 5:15p for 9 people with no problems. I also probably could have gotten LTT at the 90 day mark because many people switch to either CP or the Castle so my/your chances at LTT increase then.

But I decided to stick with CP because of the characters. We'll have already seen Minnie etc...at Chef Mickeys.

Good luck!

Thanks beattyfamily, We would actually prefer the CP as we really like the buffets and this is one of our favorite places to eat (we have too many favorite places too eat LOL). I will definitely be calling first thing on our 90 day mark!

Just bumping this thread since it's getting pretty close for some of us! 11/30 MVMCP here we come!!!

We will be there on Nov 30th. This will be our 4th party. We found last year that the Tomorrowland Terrace had the cocoa & cookies and we just walked up to the counter to get it, no one else in line.

Our first year there we watched the parade in Liberty Square - we were headed to HM. As soon as the parade finished we scooted back to HM and were first in- no line. When we came out the line was really long. We take our time while we are there. We usually head toward PoC and go on that first.

We really enjoy it. Can't wait!

A few posters have asked whether the characters at the CP are dressed for the holidays, but I haven't seen an answer. We have ressies for CP on Dec 14th before the MVMCP. We have never been there before, but have eaten at LTT and Castle. I would love to see the Pooh characters dressed for the holidays, but if not, I'm wondering if I want to change to the Castle for some extra Magic.

Anyone know if the CP characters will be decked out for the holidays?

I am not sure I understand. If you are in the park before it closes at 6:00 and you have a ticket to the MVMCP. Do they allow you to stay in the park or do you have to leave and come back in?

We will be there on Nov. 30th! Can't wait!

No, they will not make you leave. There will be CM with wristbands who will take your tickets and give you the wristbands. They do make all party goers (who are not eating in a restaurant) go to either Fantasyland or Tomorrowland while they clear out the rest of the park and get it ready.

We'll be at the party on 12/14. I've never been before. We have our tickets being held for us (will call). Where would I get them and how early?? We have ps's at LTT for 5:50, and plan to be at the park around 3:30-4:00. I'm just not really sure where I should go to 'pick-up' my tickets!!! Guess I should have had them mail them to me.:(

Thanks, one more question. Will the CM giving out wristbands be "floating" around somewhere or will there be a specific place to go get them?

I've always eaten in a restaurant so I don't know firsthand but I did read on the MNSSHP thread that you can pick them up at Guest Relations and also there will be CM around the castle and City Hall and other various places.

Thanks for all the tips. This will be our very first MVMCP. I can not wait.

I am also curious if the Pooh characters in CP have holiday attire? We have a 5:15 PS on 12/12. :Pinkbounc

jacksonsmom....the Pooh characters will most definitely have their holiday attire on during MVMCP.

Have a great time !!!

I can not wait

We really enjoyed our first MVMCP last year but we only saw one show "Celebrate the Season". Mainly because we knew where the Castle forecourt stage was and we didn't know where some of the other shows were.

I thought I would figure it out before hand this year. I don't know where the Fantasyland Pavilion is and it isn't marked on my park map. It was where Belle's enchanted Christmas was last year. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks in advance :happy1:
