Since I've just posted SEVEN questions, I figure the least I can do is offer a tip or two!!!
Our original Disney trip was schedule for May and then postponed until June so I had to go through the whole researching/booking exercise twice. I found that to get the best rates from hotes, check the usual suspects - Expedia, Travelocity etc. This is very useful to narrow down your hotel choice. Next, go to the website for that actual hotel chain and check their rate - in ALL cases that I checked, the rates were cheaper than those shown on Expedia and Travelocity. Finally, phone the hotels themselves - sometimes they offer an even better rate over the phone than they do over the 'Net.
One little caution when booking over the 'Net, check the cancellation policies - I came across a couple of hotels that required the ENTIRE stay to be paid for upon making the reservation. I can just bet that if you cancel, getting a refund would be a hassle!!!
