Once while at WDW I forgot and didn't stand on a towel when spraying my sunblock on my legs and it got on the floor and make my tennis shoes very slick.Since then,I have tried everything to make the bottoms not so slick and nothing works.Good thing I always take a back up pair.Any help would be great. Thanks

Have you tried washing the bottom of the shoes with Dawn dish detergent? If it can get oil off of a pelican in the Gulf, it should be able to get greasy sunblock off the bottom of your shoes.

Definitely Dawn Dish soap. It'll take the greasiness away!

Another vote for Dawn. If all else fails, Goo Be Gone will work too! Just wash the bottoms thoroughly after use.
You can also run through dirt (go to a baseball field at your local school or park). That will give you some exercise AND remove the oil - LOL

Try rubbing alcohol (but check a small spot first to make sure it won't react with the material that the shoe sole is made from.)

Many years ago, I worked in a hand cream factory, and when we had a spill, this is what we used to clean the floor.

Also, believe it or not, rubbing alcohol works to take the sour smell of vomit out of fabric, clothing, car upholstery, etc. (You don't want to know how I know this little factoid.) Clean up the "debris" and then rub down the residue with the alcohol. I went through gallons of the stuff at one point in my kid's childhood.

Maybe I'm a little crazy but I throw all our sports shoes in the washing machine on a delicate wash and hang them on the clothes line.

I thought that's how everyone cleaned their sports shoes.:confused3

I do that too!

If all attempts at cleaning fail, maybe try a piece of sandpaper and sand the bottoms of the shoes a little.

I vote for dawn, rubbing alcohol, or throw them into the washing machine! I have washed both My and DH's sneakers 10+ times (we are both in healthcare, and our sneakers get icky) and they are fine. I actually dry them too! I have a special rack that goes in my dryer, so I dry them too! they come out fantasticaly clean and haven't shrunk that I have noticed at all :cool1::cool1::cool1:
