How to get from LAX to Embassy Suites by Hilton Anaheim North without renting a car?

My wife and my 19 yr old daughter and 14 yr old niece will arrive at LAX from Canada next week Monday. They are booked to stay at the Embassy Suites Hotel north of Disneyland, for a few days - the only thing they will do is to go to Disneyland. So they do not wish to rent a car.

What are the best non rental car transportation options for them?

Obviously, taxi may be the quickest way to get there - but it will be the most expensive (?>US$100).
So are there shuttles or airporters that can get her directly to the hotel, or perhaps alternatively to Disneyland and then they take the hotel shuttle to the hotel?

Note- a few days later, they will then leave town from the John Wayne Santa Anna airport. So I guess it will be most convenient and cheapest if they take a taxi to that airport?

Uber. We used them in October going from our hotel in Anaheim to LAX. Worked quite well and ended up being a bit cheaper than a taxi. It was hot and he had cold bottles of water for us and magazines.

It's still not legal for Uber to pick up at LAX.

Shared shuttle will be the cheapest, a car service will likely be a bit quicker. PP gave the names of the most frequently used companies above.

Oh really? I thought it had been decided they could pick up from LAX. Darn it, I guess it's still just drop off that are legal at this point. Bummer, sorry!

From what I just erad (in a few places), UberBlack and UberSUV can actually pick up at LAX.

Now, those aren't going to be cheaper than a cab...

I personally like Karmel Shuttle.

I think either Uber or Lyft might be your best option. If you are concerned about whether or not either one of these services can pick up from LAX I would suggest they all jump on the Green Line airport shuttle bus which will transport them to the Metro Rail Line for free which is less than two miles from LAX. From that location they can have either Uber or Lyft pick them up. BTW, yes the Metro Rail system is an option to reach the Anaheim area but it would require multiple transfers from shuttles, rails and buses to finally get to Disneyland and personally I would not do it because it would take hours. If they want to save a little money they can take the free Green Line airport shuttle from LAX to the Metro Rail Line (Aviation/LAX station), take the metro rail east to the last stop (Norwalk) for $1.75 per person and then take either Uber or Lyft from Norwalk to Anaheim.

It was announced today that Lyft has been approved for LAX pickups as of tomorrow morning. Uber has not yet applied for a permit, so there is no timeline if or when they will be able to make pickups. Other ride shares have applied but have not yet been approved.

I would prefer to use a shuttle. I have never ever used a service like Uber; and I do not want to try it for the first time at LAX.

Main question - do I have to purchase the ticket on-line, or can I purchase them at the airport terminal. I have gone to LAX many times (but usually rented a car from there when going to Anaheim) - but I do not recall ever seeing a desk for any of the shuttle services (at Terminal 2, which Air Canada uses).

I think it's just easier to book online...no dealing with cash/credit cards and you can take care of the tip at the same time.

Even though it's just the two of us, we have recently started Business Express Service with Execucar Express. A dedicated vehicle for up to 4 adults to the Disneyland area for $72. No waiting for the van to fill up and always the first stop.

Can be booked through Supershuttle or Execucar directly.

But if I do want to book at the last moment at the airport, can I do it?

Are there shuttle desks (ie Supershuttle, Execucar etc) at LAX - if yes, all terminal buildings, including T2?

I'm pretty sure Super Shuttle has signs telling you to call their 1-800 number. For a 35 mile trip like that I think you're better off scheduling it or else you increase your chances of circling the airport or making multiple stops before you get to Anaheim. Does the DL Express bus stop at your hotel? I think you can walk up and book that.

So are there shuttle desks at the various terminal buildings of LAX?

For Supershuttle, we have always just walked out to the curb where there is always a SS representative, and they coordinate the people to the shuttle going to their location. Not sure if there is a counter for SS.

When we've used Execucar, we always get a call as we are getting off the plane and the driver tells us where/when the pickup is. Usually by the time we make a pit stop, find the ground transportation floor and head out to the curb, he's there within 10 minutes.
