How to get from Boma to resort after AKL closes?

We have an ADR at Boma at 6:20 after AK closes at 5:00. If we take the bus to AK, how can we get back to POR after dinner? Can we take bus to DTD then ride boat? Or would it be better to just drive to AK? It seems like it would take a lot of time to go back to our car then drive to AKL for dinner, but maybe not. Any advice?

We have done the bus transfer game before after eating at Boma. Hope on either a DTD bus, or a park bus if any are open late, and then transfer from there. Or alternatively you can get a cab back which would be much faster, but cost you like $20 or so.

Well, we will have a car, so maybe we should just drive? I don't really want to spend extra money on a cab, and I think the bus to DTD / boat to POR will take a LOT of time.

How does parking at AK / AKL work? Is there a tram like the other parks have? Would it be convenient to drive from the park to the AKL?

I definitely suggest driving if you have a car. We always rent a car and end up driving to all of the parks. In March we stayed at the AKL and drove to all parks, including AK. Parking is just like all of the other parks.. there is a tram to take you to/from the park to the lot. The park is VERY close to the lodge. It's literally a 2 minute drive. Taking a bus from AK to DTD then to your hotel will take such a long time and in my opinion is too much of a hassle.. especially if you have a car! You have a reservation at Boma, so you'll be able to tell the guard at the AKL gate that you have a reservation. He/she will probably ask to check your ID and then you'll be able to park at the AKL with no problem.
