Here are the directions copied from that URL.

Directions from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside Resorts:

Follow the signs for the South Exit from the airport to pick up SR417 South (also called the Central Florida GreeneWay) towards Disney World. Once on SR417, you'll have 2 toll plazas for $1 each. After the 2nd toll, take exit 6 (SR 536/International Drive). Go straight through two sets of traffic lights (first intersection will be International Drive; second will be SR535) which will put you on SR536. Continue straight on this road and go straight through the next set of lights. You will pass the Marriott Orlando World Center on the right and the Holiday Inn Family Suites on the left, then I-4.

Just after I-4, you'll pass under the WDW welcome arch and the road becomes Epcot Center Drive. Take the 3rd exit after the arch. The sign will say Port Orleans/Old Key West. Go left at the set of lights at the end of the exit ramp. This is Bonnet Creek Parkway. Stay in the right hand lane and continue straight through the next traffic light. The entrance to Port Orleans French Quarter will be the first resort on your right after the traffic light. Port Orleans Riverside will be a little further down also on the right.

If you need a grocery stop before arriving at Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside Resorts you have several options.

Option 1: Follow the above directions for leaving the airport and picking up SR417. Get off at exit 11 (South Orange Blossom Trail). NOTE: There is a 50-cent tollbooth at this exit that only accepts exact change so be prepared. Turn left at the bottom of the exit ramp. There is an Albertson's (open until 1:00 am) about 1/10 of a mile up and a Winn Dixie (open until midnight) about 4/10 of a mile up. If you turn right at the bottom of the exit ramp, there is a SuperTarget (open until 9:00pm Sundays and 11:00 pm every other day) a short ways down.

When finished shopping, get back on SR417 South and continue using the directions above.

Option 2: Follow the above directions for leaving the airport and picking up SR417. Get off at exit 6 (International Drive). Turn right at first set of lights onto International Drive. About 3-4 miles on the left you will see the Premium Outlet Mall. Take a left at the lights at the entrance. Publix is right there on the right. When done shopping, go back out to International Drive and take a right. Follow it to the end and turn right which will put you on 536. Continue with the directions above.

thanks so much for directions--depending on how much it will be to use a shuttle or service, we may end up renting a car--just showed the directions to dad--thanks!!

anyone have any price ideas or insight on what to do --shuttle or service--? thanks!

Mears is the most economical shuttle, though not loved by everyone. Click here to visit their web site. http://www.mearstransportation.com/ This is quoted from mousesavers.com "Most Walt Disney World packages use Mears Shuttle, which is moderately priced for transfers between Orlando International Airport (MCO) and the Disney resorts at $29 roundtrip for adults (12 and older) and $21 for kids ages 4-11. Kids 3 and under are free."

I personally rent a car and wouldn't do anything else. You have freedom to roam if you want to go off site. Start at mousesavers.com/rentalcar.html for great info on renting a car.

If you want help pricing some dates, I'd be glad to help.

You can also get a van/limo/towncar transfer. There are many different companies. FL Tours, Happy Limo, Tiffany Towncar, Prestige, and many many more. Many folks have their preference here and I am sure they will voice them.

Have a great night!

thanks so much! i am passing everything along to dad..this trip is mom, dad, brother (18) , myself (20), and 2 friends (17 and 19)...guess i should have looked this stuff up before..we are going the 8th..so only 13 more days to figure this out :)

Since you have 6 people, you will need a minivan.

I just ran your dates for National Car Rental and you can get a minivan for just under $180 taxes included. This is a great rate for a minivan.

I used the priceless contract code (6600330) that anyone can use and I used a $20 off coupon that you can print out here.

You can check it for yourself at www.nationalcar.com

I hate to drive while at Disney so my DW and I usually get a towncar service. We will be using Murray-Hill Transportation for our January trip. A van would be required for 6 people which would add $10 on to the normal $80 R/T fare. They offer a $5 discount coupon on their site which would make the total for the 6 of you, roundtrip to POR, $85 plus tips. For the two of us, we usually tip $10 each way. The trip from IOA (MCO) is about 30 minutes (We will be staying there in a few weeks!). To check out Murray-Hill, use this link: http://www.transportation2disney.com/. We have found this to be the most hassle free way to go if you are spending your entire time on Disney property. The driver will meet you at the baggage claim area at MCO, help you to the vehicle and take you right to the front door of POR. He will then schedule your pick-up time for your return trip to the airport. At that time, you pay in full for the R/T fare and tip the driver for that segment of the trip. You will tip again once you return to the airport (just in case you get 2 different drivers). It's pretty simple and convenient.
Enjoy your trip and don't miss Bob "The Piano Man" Jackson in the River Roost Lounge!
He's hilarious!

We have used Fl. Tours exclusively for the past several years with outstanding service. You can use the link on the top of any of the transportation pages here on the DIS to get to them and get a price! They are the official transportation company of the DIS - using them helps keep these boards available for all!

Instead of mergin onto 536 as previously posted, stay on 417 and follow the signs to Osceola Parkway. Take the Osceola Parkway to exit 3 (there is a toll there) and you will make a right hand turn. You will pass the Gaylord Palms Resort on the left and Disney is about a mile down the road. This is a much nicer ride than all the traffic on I-4 and it is very well detailed with signs directing you to the Magic Kingdom. Follow the ones to the Magic Kingdom, not Epcot as the ones for Epcot bring you through Downtown Disney.

I find this to be so much less traffic and you can be in Disney within 15 minutes.

You will see around Landstar Blvd. a supertarget, walmart, etc. These are the best places to get groceries.

Good luck.
