I'm looking for some suggestions for how you might be able to get the best price for the Dec 19-21 in a Downtown Disney hotel (LBV BW, Hilton, Double Tree, ? Sun, etc.). I've seen a few links here on the boards and some given by various newsletters I've signed up for (allears, mousesavers). I have a CAA(AAA) membership so that's an option.

I know you can try priceline or some other auction site, but I'm not willing to take a chance on getting something not on the Downtown "strip".

Just thought someone might have experience booking these hotels often and uses a tried and true method. We've only stayed at the LBV BW before but the rest look pretty good also. I find the rooms are fair, not great, but fair. It's the location we love. It's great to be able to walk to DtD, really makes us feel like we're part of the action. We will be moving to a DVC villa after the weekend anyway, but still want to start the vacation feeling like we're "at Disney".

Thanks

Bset value for your dates I can find is Regal Sun Resort with Hotelopia.co.uk, 2 nights £89 less code 170470 brings it down to £81 and book thru Quidco.com £72 (£36/night) but you also have a $10/night resort fee payable locally.
I think its a bargain for a hotel thats just spent $25million renovating.
Next cheapest is Royal Plaza after discount and cashback £97 total no resort fee mentioned here. Stopped there but others on their site.
Its a cheap 2 nights, just seen Peabody at £58/night, lowest I have ever seen it.
Edit just seen you are not in UK. With Hotelopia you can book in USD or Canadian Dollars. The code still works to get price down to C$ 160 but don't know if you will be able to get the extra 10% off with Quidco, maybe UK users only.

Thanks Wayneg! I've been watching Hotelopia and they seemed to have the best rates so far. I think the Regal Sun might be a winner!

No problem, just edited my post if you missed that, I thought I was in UK section when I posted thats why I quoted in UK£, sorry.

I have used Hotelopia for past year or more, don't know if you know anything about them. They are one of biggest tour ops in the world, part of the Tui group based in Germany. Google them if you want to know about them but they are massive in Europe. A very good company.

Try travelocity.com Do you need airfare too? I went in April and I got Roundtrip Nonstop Aifare from NYC to MCO, 7 nights at the Best Western LBV and Hertz rental car for only $999 for FOUR people.
The hotel is newly renovated, check out tripadvisor.com We had a great stay!!

Just stayed at the Royal Plaza and there is an $8 a night resort fee.

There is but many hotels booked thru Hotelopia include resort fees. Unless they are stated on the booking they are usually included. Probably best to account for it then its a bonus if not charged.

We don't need airfare but I'll keep my eye on that site.

Hotelopia right now has the best rates for the DtD hotels. The only hesitation I have right now is whether to book the cheapest one of the bunch, that being BWLBV or to splurge and try something new.

Thanks again for the info.:lovestruc

That is very close to the Holidays when hotels will book up. I would make a reservation now and check back in every two weeks or so. You don't want to be left out in the in.
