how to Find Peter during christmas holiday trip?

Ok so i have an upcoming disney world vacation the week before christmas thanks to a MPS disease (which i have) its a wonderful trip seeing others like me old friends and making new ones. I'm also getting to bring a good friend along as well which i think will be awesome.

ok so i love characters and I'm wanting to start interacting with them other than simply smiling at the camera. I'm a 22 year old (forever young at heart) guy.
in the park however i find it hard to get to the characters due to my mobility issues and never seem to catch them.

I'm planning on booking the fireworks pirates and palls voyage as seeing this is a great experience and guarantees some face time with characters last year i did it and was kinda star struck lol. so id like some tips to make the memories stronger and not look like a goof to my friend who's not as be a disney fanatic as i lol.

also some tips on in park characters would be nice id love to catch Peter in the park, or Terrance, or even a long shot Maleficent
