How to find decent RT airfare from LAX to Europe?

I haven't cruised DCL. I first pick the region I want to cruise. I then look at what itinerary is of interest and finally check dates and prices. I don't think DCL even had a ship in the Mediterranean last year. Regardless I was looking for a cruise which included the Greek Islands. I don't think much of the itinerary DCL has for Alaska. I'd wouldn't even think of DCL's current Alaskan cruises.

A PP mentioned how expensive the 12 night DCL Mediterranean cruise costs. I looked. The cost is crazy high. More then twice the price I paid with Princess last summer for a 12 night cruise. More then twice the price DCL seems to be charging for the 7 night Mediterranean cruise.

Well you said yourself they slashed prices to fill the ship. If you have no preference for cruise line and can make plans last minute, that's fine. We can't all do that. We have tried other lines and simply end up wishing we were back on DCL. So now we look to see where DCL is going & whether we can make it happen.
You're right, no DCL ships in the Med last year. The Magic (which usually does the Med cruises) sailed out of NYC last summer. Other lines run the same itinerary in Alaska as DCL. I realize one way cruises there are ideal but since DCL caters to families with kids of all ages, they try to keep it simple. I was happy to sail from Seattle and not have to deal with a long connecting flight from Anchorage. My kids had their 1st day of school the next day.

Unlike other lines, DCL only has 4 ships; it serves a much smaller niche of cruising population. Also unlike other cruise lines which have entertainment, Disney is an entertainment company with cruise ships. Just because the ship experience is secondary, doesn't mean it's not important.
To each his own. Cruise however makes you happy & I will do the same. :goodvibes
How about helping the OP get good airfare to Europe instead of telling us we're stupid to cruise DCL? :rolleyes1

Disney tends to be a very high priced option and doesn't always have the best ports (when you are a small player and come late to the game... for example they have a much worse port for Florence if you actually want to go there, it's not bad for some other places, but they advertise it as Florence)

The only reason we are doing DCL was I used by DVC points.. otherwise it would have been another line!

Can we keep the "rent your points" chant over on the DVC boards? However, in response to your unsolicited advice, I didn't buy the points to run a business with them.

I rarely even read the DVC boards, let alone post. You indicated DCL is over priced and doesn't always have the best ports.

I'd think someone with that opinion would look for an opportunity to book a cruise on a different cruise line.

I'll admit I have no idea how good (or bad) a deal Disney offers to DVC owners who exchange points for cruises. I recall reading posers who said the deal wasn't very good but that was a few years ago. I was curious if you explored options other then a using your points to book a DCL cruise.

Thank you for your thoughts.
