How to eat at WDW on the Feingold Diet? Or no food dyes?

Hey there,
We are on the Feingold diet. This basically eliminates all food dyes, THBQ BHT, artificial sweeteners. Has anyone else that uses this program been to WDW and survived? We do not have the money for sit down meals, which is where we could best control our diet plan. We are going to have to stay off-site so that we can eat breakfast at home. We'll be bringing in our own snacks and some food, but really don't want to have to carry a ton of stuff with us all day.
Thanks so much!

1) Disney fast food (aka, QS) has *some* leeway for allergies.
. . . there are no chefs at the eateries
. . . the manager or designate comes out and talks about options
. . . the options are predetermined and are not customizable like at TS's
2) But, non-dye is not one of the common options.
3) Each eatery does have a book with ingredients for your review.
4) Hopefully, you can find something in the book.

DS is extremely intolerant to food dyes and we have never had a problem avoiding this at CS locations. Between him and I, we have a multitude of allergies and have eaten well. My suggestion is to pick out where you'd like to eat ahead of time and then look at the menus to find items that you think will be the least likely to have dye in them. When you go to the CS locations, tell a cashier that you have food allergies and ask to see a manager. The manager should (in almost all cases) have a binder that lists what ingredients are in foods. It helps speed up the process if you know what you may want already. I think there has only been one time when every ingredient in a food I wanted for DS wasn't listed and so we just didn't take the risk and picked something else. I have found food dyes to be pretty easy to avoid and being preservative free is a bit harder but certainly doable (you will probably need to expect fruit for snacks and dessert and being offered gluten free or other allergy free foods for desserts since they are less likely to have those added in). Places we have had the best CS meals with multiple allergies: Flame Tree (AK), Cosmic Rays (MK), Sunshine Seasons (EPCOT), Art of Animation and POP Century. Hope this helps!

Agreed with the above advice to check it out before you go! And if you're in Epcot, try the American Pavillion counter service. They have a great selection of choices and they have a binder that they bring out with the ingredients (so you can look through). Also found this to be the case at Backlot and ABC Commis in Hollywood and all the places in Magic Kingdom had options that were safe for us. We didn't ask about the preservatives, but you can look through those allergen binders easy enough. Also, by looking through the menus ahead of time, you'll have a good idea of what is likely safe to order and then you just verify when you get there. Have fun!
