How to drop off a one day rental car?

We will be going to Universal for one day so we only need to rent a car for that day. I'm not worried about getting the car but we won't be coming back until late. Would I be able to drop off the rental that night or would we have to do it the next morning? We never rented a car for just a day before so I wasn't sure how it works?

yes most rental company are open 24 hours so you be able to return it that night just check and make sure they do the same day pick up are if they make you keep it for atleast 24 but it shouldnt be a problem. it also depends on where at the airport it open 24 hours but if it in a hotel they may have different hours or stand alone one may have the same hours or different hours. so just check when they open and when they close.

You need to check the location you plan to pick up and drop off. Agencies at major airports (like MCO) are generally open 24/7. Neighborhood Locations (and hotels) have different hours.

The Hertz desk at the Portofino Bay Hotel is open from 8a to 6p 7 days. The valet at Swan Dolphin will accept returns when the rental desk is closed. I don't know what procedure Hertz has with the Universal hotels.

Car rentals are usually on a 24 hour basis. So, if you rented at 9:00 in the morning, you could return it before 9:00 AM the next day and still pay the 1 day charge.

Where are you renting from? If you are renting right on Disney (Alamo) just make sure you have transportation back after you drop the car off. We went to return a one day rental and found when we got there disney transport to the resort had ended. We kept it overnight and returned it the next day within the 24 hours but was sort of a pain.

We were going to rent from Alamo at Disney. If we keep the car until the next morning will they be able to transport us any where on Disney property???

Yes, there are vans waiting outside the Alamo office and they will take you anywhere on property you wish to go. It's very easy and convenient - I do this every trip. Note - if you're going to the Magic Kingdom, they will drop you at Ticket and Transportation.

It depends on the Alamo location. If you are renting from CCC, then yes a van will take you where you need to go on property.

If you are renting from the Dolphin location, then there are Disney buses to MK, Epcot, and DTD, or the boats/walkway to Studios and Epcot.

We're renting a car from the Alamo @ the Swan in the middle of our stay. Do we have to find our own way to the office or will they be able to pick us up from our resort?
