How To Deal w/ Princess Dress in Summer?

I just wish I could find some reasonably priced princess dresses for my daughter. I've pretty much given up.

The ones on Etsy are in the $30 range, and the princess costumes on Amazon run about the same. I really like Etsy though because that $30 is going to support an artist/seamstress/everyday person instead of just a big corporation!

$30 is still pushing it for me but is better than the $40 and $50 I keep seeing. Do you have a link to this person?

I found some more Etsy sellers with adorable dresses. There a multitude of different styles out there. Thought I would share them with you guys. Again, I do not know any of these sellers and have never purchased anything from them.

That last seller has TONS of adorable Minnie dresses. Once again, the pics are links.

The sellers I just linked to in my post above are both selling their creations for around $25. I agree, not cheap for a dress, but cheap comparatively! The seller I linked in my first post is selling hers for closer to $40 but they are a more unique style.

Cheaper than the actual princess-costume dresses are simply princess dresses. Here are a few examples.

Also, I LOVE this Princess Tiana inspired skirt. It's $27.

I know what you mean! My problem is I have a wine-lover's pocket and don't even have the money to buy some cheap beer!!!!!:rotfl2: Seriously, I have been searching Disney attire for DD since we went last year (for some reason, I have this idea that every.single.character.meal has to have the perfect matching outfit to that character) and EVERYTHING I fall in love with is $100-$400 per dress! And I really need to stay in the $20-$60 per dress category!!!! I really need to change my tastes!!!!!!

Here's some I found on etsy, too, that are just too cute (but in the $95-$115 range). I don't know how to do links to pics like poster, so I'll post pics and links. Sorry! :) Oh, and I don't know the seller or anything, just that I love her/his work!!!!!!

Or learn to sew!! ;)

LOL I SOOO tried to teach myself as I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the custom dresses on etsy and similar sites and buy them often, but I can't even sew a straight line in fabric, not to mention all the talent you ladies who do have!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And PLEASE don't read into what I'm saying as they're not worth it! If I won the lottery, the first thing I'd probably do (besides quit my part-time job, lol) is buy tons of those dresses for DD!!!!!!! I know it is hard work and not just anyone can do it!!!!!

I'm not reading a thing into it at all. :goodvibes Heck, if I couldn't make the stuff myself, I'd be fussing about the prices!! I'm sorry the sewing thing didn't work out for you. I only said that because there's more than one DIS'er on the Disboutiquer thread who started sewing as an adult because they wanted a custom for every character meal!

LOL I will HAVE to tell my husband I'm not the only nutty mommy who thinks it's fun to dress up for every meal!!!!!! He was like :confused3 last year when we went our first year! I was just beside myself trying to plan each outfit for each event!!!!! LOL It's just so fun and it won't be long and she won't even want to go on a family vacation with us!!!! I am fully enjoying this time with her while I can!!!!!:lovestruc

I can testify to the first two pics on post #43 and the middle one on post #44. They are by the same designer on etsy and the outfits are very lightweight and well made. I think they usually run between $30 and $40 and the designer is carriecreations.

<eta> i am not affiliated with her, but my friends and I have bought dresses from her:)

the colors were a little weird in this shot, but my DD wore one of the dresses to the Frog premiere in NYC. (Due to it being bitterly cold that day, leggings and a turtleneck were added to the ensemble)

I can't see the pics! Just red X's. Am I the only one not able to view?

I'm not sure what is happening. I can't seem to fix it, so I gave up just did a link directly to my album.

can you atleast see that?

We had a gorgeous cinderella dress for my daughter for our trip last August. Was the deluxe version from disney store.
decided it would be wayyyy too hot with that long skirt with many layers.

Ended up cutting the skirt - made it more of a tutu on her! It looked really cute, she was cool and comfy!

I love these dresses too! But I just can not imagine spending $100 on a dress-up outfit, especially with such cute cheaper ones floating about.

mom2rtk, if I ever have a little girl I want you to make costumes for her! :worship:
