thanks,

Just call back the reservations number. They will tell you if the new code is a better deal than what you already have.

Isn't there a DC toll-free number you can call? Check the back of your card. :)

It might be a good idea to just call & ask about it as if you were making a new reservation. Then you can compare to what you already have booked.

The main reason I say this is because I have heard too many stories of reservations getting messed up. CMs sometimes (not often!) have accidentally changed or cancelled existing reservations & not been able to get them back to the original state. It's just my personal feeling about this, not something you have to do, of course!

Hi Mikewdw:

My family are DVC members and when we stay 9+ nights we choose to pay cash for the Friday/Saturday night stays. We are also DC members, too. We are going the end of May and this is what I did:

Made our Friday/Saturday night reservation through CRO because:

1). We have AP's and Im hoping for a better discount. AP discounts/reservations are honored through CRO.

2). I compared DC & DVC discount to the earlier code (AZK (?))
and found the code to be cheaper than the other membership discount. Again, DC and DVC could not honor the discount code.

3). Today, I called CR0 and asked them to compare the cost of my current reservation with the initial code to the most current one posted Friday, and I saved approximately $22.00 total for the two night stay. It was a simple 3 minute phone call and I asked the CM to send me an updated reservation reflecting my new balance. My reservation number stayed the same, but I want something in hand that reflected the new discount code and balance.

4). Now, Im hoping and waiting for the AP code. If AP provides a discount, I will do what I did in #3). Twenty-two dollars isn't much but it would pay for a souvenir.

Best of luck!
