How to catch a resort cancelation

Does anyone know of a way to catch a cancelation at a certain resort? Do the Disney reservationists have a way to do this? I have a reservation at one resort, but it’s not my first choice. Is the only option to keep checking the Disney or Undercover Tourist sites, or somewhere else, for openings?

I have not heard of any special way, other than constantly checking online and I would also call regularly to check.

No, there isn’t any kind of waitlist or automated way to do it. You just have to check often. Checking around the cancellation deadlines (30 days for packages, 6 days for room only) is a good idea as there may be more cancellations around those times. Good luck!

The biggest changes are going to happen about 1 month out when packages are due and possibly more closer in. My last trip the floodgates opened 1-2 weeks out but ymmv, if there is a convention or something you’re sunk so always be happy with what you currently have booked.
