Where do you put your camera and video camera and all your stuff when walking around disney? What is the best setup, backpack? :surfweb:

We used a smaller, lightweight backpack and it worked out great. I would not hesitate to do it again.

My husband has a case for his camera that clips on his belt, has a compartment for an extra set of batteries.

I have a small digital camera. It will fit in my fanny pack...we call it a pack bag. lol.

I'll be carrying that with me at all times. I'll put it in 2 ziploc bags to protect it from rain/water rides depending on the weather.

I keep the digital camera with me, and the hubby is in charge of the video camera and bag-----it has a long strap so it fits over a shoulder. We are spoiled in that we usually have a coach to stuff all the "stuff" in------now i had to order a new bag for our trip next week without the kiddies--Although I would ride in the double stroller if my husband would push it!!!! :rotfl:

OK, here is my thoughts on the subject. If you are going during a time of high temperatures (would depend on how much you sweat) I would not suggest carrying a big backpack. I had a mini backpack for my recent trip and it held everything I wanted, but I could not carry my video camera.

I would not attempt, myself, to carry my video camera with a camera bag that is shoulder strapped. It just gets too heavy for me.

I personally like to carry a bigger backpack with me, but I would not do it if the temperature is over 78. The larger backpack will hold both the video camera, the digital camera (or SLR or point & shoot, whatever you have), plus drinks, maps, and extra clothes.

I carry mine in an over the shoulder bag I picked up at Old Navy really cheap over the summer. My wife has her own camera bag she carries herself.

I use a smaller backpack I picked up at WalMart a couple years ago. It has two side pockets (handy for cell phones) and a front zipper section (handy for FP's, tickets, room keys, etc.). Inside is big enough to hold water bottles, camera, etc. DH will carry video camera but backpack is large enough (once we drink the water) to carry that too :woohoo:

I generally use a "fanny" pack (I know they are so unfashionable  ) that holds everything wonderfully and it's waterproof.

This year I also discovered the "healthy back" backpack from either Lands End or LL Bean, which was fantastic when we went on our cruise, so I might take that as well depending on what we're doing. For these, I see whoever has them on clearance, the colors are sometimes obnoxious, but then I always know which bag is mine :thumbsup2

Edit: Oops, thought this was in the photography section asking what camera bag to carry in the parks. I just re-read the original post and realized I gave my opinion on the wrong question. Here's my new answer...

This is what we found for carrying our miscellaneous junk into the park. It's called a sling. I found it at Sports Authority. It's smaller than a backpack, yet still large enough to carry the stuff we want. I like the way it slings on and off easily when you're getting into a ride or something. Also not quite as hot as a full backpack.

When I got tired of having it over my shoulder, I was able to also wear it as an over-sized fanny pack. (I'm pooh sized. May not apply to everyone. LOL.)

Here's my original reply that now doesn't apply. Since I spent so much time finding the pictures online, I'll leave it, though...

I think the best money I've spent for my SLR was a semi-hard case like this one:

On most days in the parks, I just wore the camera around my neck with this case on it. The camera strap that came with my Canon Digital Rebel XT didn't last 30 minutes. It was digging into my neck and had to go! That was an excellent excuse to get a Mickey Mouse one, which actually was much more comfortable.

Sometimes I missed not having my lenses or other accessories with me, but the trade off was not having to lug the camera bag around in the parks. I'll often bring my full bag into the park and leave it in a locker. If there's anything I really need, I can walk back to it.

Next year, I'm going to find a small lens case I can wear on my belt to at least have the option of two different lenses. Something like this:

We always take a small digital in a ziploc. With good photo editing equipment we get pictures as good as our larger 35mm.

i have a baggilini from e-bags. I really like it. It is big enough for a small digital camera, and has credit card slots for tickets, room keys, fastpasses. It also has a pocket with a magnet closure for the cell phone. It has a long strap to go over the shoulder.

I have a baggillini as well. it was great on this trip. I know it will be coming with me in the future. Lots and lots of room. More compartments than I know what to do wtih.

I use this bag for my camera... I use a Digital Rebel, and I keep an additional lens in there as well. There is also room for whatever my wife needs, too, since she doesnt want to carry her purse around the parks. To make it so it is easier to carry and doesn't slide off me, I put the strap over the opposite shoulder... I don't know how to describe it, but I have it set up so that the bag is on my left side, but the strap crosses over my chest and it sits on my right shoulder. This way it doesn't slide off my arm.... I also usually keep a few big zip loc freezer bags to put my camera and other sensitive stuff in if I go on a water ride, or if it looks like its going to rain.

That method got me through 3 trips to WDW, 1 to DLR, and week in Hawaii :)

I know Disney has a small backpack that you can fit around your waist and it can fit a camera and camcorder..My Dsis and I bought it for our trip and it was alot easier than carrying a bag on our shoulder...
