My family and I recently returned from a trip to WDW and our already looking towards our next trip for Thanksgiving in 2006. I have found numerous sites such as this one, allearsnet.com, etc., that are really great in getting the most out of your Disney vacation. I am curious as to what the consensus is that people believe is the best way to book your Disney Vacation. A few options are:
  1. Book through AAA
  2. Call Disney on your own
  3. Other travel agent - i.e. MouseEarVacations.com as supported by allearsnet.com

I am even contemplating renting points to stay in a villa, but if I can get a deal on a deluxe resort..... It can easily get overwhelming in a hurry.

Thanks in advance for any input!

We used AAA for our first family trip back in 1997 but wonder now if we saved anything or paid rack rates? There is no guarantee of savings going through AAA, although most people believe there is. You can call CRO and get a AAA rate. You can then (if you want) go to AAA and purchase theme park tickets.
Last year we found WDWVacations.com on mousesaver.com. They got us a AAA discount immediately. As time went on two better deals came out and they ended up saving us around $800.00! Their people are helpful and very knowledgeable about Disney and very easy to deal with. They even made all our priority seatings for us. The best part is that it is all FREE!
This kind of Disney specialist will keep looking for codes, discounts, etc. to get you the best deal. I will never book through CRO again when WDWVacations.com can do it better, take care of our ps, and get us the best price.

I noticed WDWVacations.com through mousesavers.com as well. It is good to receive some feedback from someone that actually used them. I was leaning either towards either them or just "renting" a DVC. Most likely I will cost both out when it comes time to book and see how the figures come out.

I have rented points for the last 2 years and that, in my opinion is the way to go, especially if you have a large group. By renting points you can reduce your hotel accomadations to about 1/3 of what you would pay calling disney.

You can rent a 3 bedroom villa for about 180 points from Sunday to Friday. If you bought the points for 11 a point, that equals about $1980.00 for 5 nights. You would pay around $1000.00/night through Disney.

I've booked 3 trips through dreamsunlimitedtravel.com, and am currently planning 2 more. I definitely think that using a travel agent over AAA or Disney is better. They've specialized in Disney and will constantly check back for better rates. And, you're still able to plan some things on your own if that's more your style.
