How to avoid winter in Canada & how many times can I change my trip?

One of my favorite things about being in Disney world is not having to make dinner! I really do love to cook, but I love the break as well. And the best part??? Not having to worry about DD's severe lactose-intolerance and not having to spend hours on-line looking at restaurant web sites to find places where we can eat out. LOTS of foods have traces of dairy.

So my ADR's are still in the land of the lost on-line, but do exist in the computers of Disney so I am good! I booked 2 new (for us) ARD's! A Fantasmic! lunch package and Mickey's Backyard BBQ (two things I have been wanting to try out) this time! :dance3:

Here is the plan
(but I might cancel the Whispering Canyon as we need the dining credit for the BBQ)

March 9th Dinner @ Chef Mickey's
March 10th Fantasmic! Lunch @ Mama Melrose's Ristorante Italiano
March 11th Dinner @ The Plaza Restaurant
March 12th Dinner @ The Garden Grill
March 13th Dinner @ Whispering Canyon Café
March 14th Dinner @ Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater
March 15th BIRTHDAY DINNER @ Tony's Town Square
March 16th Dinner @ Coral Reef Restaurant
March 17th Mickey’s Backyard BBQ
March 18th Dinner @ Liberty Tree Tavern

YUMMY! :thumbsup2

Nice family you have .
wow some changes you've made but good ones I have to say :)
what about your ADR most restaurants on your list are favorites of me & DH .
did you buy airfares yet ?? for my upcoming ( 18 th trip to the world I'm from canada also lol...) we found great deals at air transat for end of jan to mid feb ..We alos fly often from burlington but for some reasons the prices of airfares seems a bit ( quite a bit ) expensive so I was glad we found good prices a few days ago .

Oh Man! I dream of flying non-stop from YUL! We always end up on a connection (through DC on United) and 1/2 of the time out of BTV. BTV has seemed more expensive as of late and I refuse to use Allegient b/c I adore ME.

I have not booked yet, but have been looking and looking and airfares are going no where so I am staying where I am. I will be flying down solo with the kids (no biggie) and DH will meet us at MCO or WDW after a work trip in TX.

Thanks for the ADR bit, I am proud and spent way too much time obsessing over the reservations.

Where are you staying for your winter trip?

We went in Feb our first year up here (DS was still in preschool and it is much cheaper) and were so bitter about the amount of snow after we came back. :rotfl: So for us it is good that DS has a 2+ week March Break and we go down toward the end to try to avoid excess snowfall when we return.

Nice to "meet" a local Dis'er! :goodvibes

Hi
We will be staying at AKL for 1st part of the trip ) jan 30 th to feb 6 th ) then leave for a disney cruise on the disney dream after cruise we will be going bacl at WDW at WL for 3 nights ..thank god for Disney vacation club wich I'm glad we bought into a little bit over 3 years ago so glad I did convince DH to get into DVC :lmao:well I guess that going twice ( sometimes 3 times a year ) it was worth it .
We mostly fly from burlington ( airfare is so much chaeper than MTL ) but this year I did find us some great price so MTL it will be .
and by the way I also obssese over ADR and often change them around ..do somes changes in dinner instead of lunch ....lol...

DH refuses to do DVC. I might try to rent points for part of our March trip and stay at WLV, but I am not sure I want to do a split stay.

I would love to try AKL as it has the one bus stop for easy transportation, but the no balloon policy (which I totally understand) keeps us away with the little ones.

Sounds like you have a great trip! DS (actually all of us) really wants to take a cruise on the Dream and was telling me that some kids in grade 2 at his school are taking one together (family friends) over March break.

I was feeling sad about canceling the Christmas trip and missing all the great WDW decorations, so I decided to order some of the WDW Christmas magic to be delivered to my door!

The Osborne Lights and the Christmas-themed parade were what I was looking forward to most and as luck should have it, those were 2 of the holiday vinylmations issued this year!

These are my first vinylmations, but not not my last as I am hoping to get the NYC Statue of Liberty one when we go in January.

Here are the new decorations making their way to my house:

Hi
I'm with you my husband until 2007 didnt want anything to do with DVC it took the DVc tour and a very good DVC guide to show him that if we went twice a year it was well worth it with good exemples he did convince DH who now regrets not buying in 2002 ( our 1st trip ) .
So who knows one day this may work for you !

Oooh I can't wait to hear about Mickey's BBQ, I wanted to do that, but we are passing on it this time around.

Your ADR's look yummy!!

As you can tell by my signature, I mixed it all up again!

I was really craving a break with DH and the kids and some time in the sun and sand before the real Canada winter sets in, and I was searching and searing on line for any sort of deal and yesterday voila!

Category 12 on a 7-night Eastern NYE Cruise!
$325 r/t airfare from YUL!

Booked! Paid in full!

Now we have to see what the extra vacation days will do to the 10 crazy night trip...

We are surprising the kids with the trip on Christmas Morning! I am thinking of getting some cruise autograph books and making up some door magnets and boxing them up...

I will let you know! There are some mixed reviews out there, but I am betting that the kids will love the character interaction and they love BBQ food so it was an easy decision for us. We tried to book it last March and it was sold out.
