I can't remember how strong/robust the wifi at the fort was the last time I was there. Since we might be traveling with our rescued dog, I was thinking about purchasing a wifi based monitor camera so we could check in on the dog while we are at the parks from our smart phones. I know a lot of campgrounds the wifi can handle e-mail and that is about it. I've looked at several cameras that say they need no configuration, they simple connect to an open hotspot. I don't want to spend $200 on a camera if it isn't going to work anyway. Has anybody tried this style camera at the fort recently. Thanks for the info.

I think the "Strength" of the WiFi signal is adequate, however the Bandwidth when we were there last (in August 2016) seemed to fluctuate depending on many factors. (Time of day, weather, etc...)

I know some people have bought a cheap smart phone (or older one) and added it to their plan (for my plan it would be an extra $15/month) and just set it up as a "Hotspot" so that reliability was based more on your Cell Service which tends to be more reliable (assuming you have one of those more reliable carriers). They just keep it plugged in and charged in the Camper.

We did this in October. Instead of buying a camera, we left an iPad camera turned on and used the Manything app (which is free btw). We had no problems with wifi signal. It worked great and gave us both peace of mind.
