Hey everyone...I'm new at this so please forgive me if this covered somewhere. So, we have five people going to the parks but we have four 3-Day park hoppers and one 2-Day hopper. Will they likely stop us from early entry on Tuesday morning because of the one ticket?

Do they truly open at the hour listed or a little earlier for general public?
Thanks for the help:)

Yes. They will stop the person without EE on his or her ticket. (I'm assuming your other 4 tickets are bonus tickets with EE on them).

Do they truly open at the hour listed or a little earlier for general public?

Yes, they "drop the rope" right at the hour listed.
There is a rope at the end of Main Street that keeps people from going past it before the opening of the park. If the park opens at 10, and EE is at 9, the gates open at 8:30, I believe. Those with EE will be allowed through the turnstyles. You progress down Main Street to the rope. Right at 9 (not earlier from my experiences) a CM will wrap up the rope and ask you to WALK to your ride destination.

Sometime between 9 and 10 (I'm guessing 9:30) those without EE tickets are allowed into the park. The rope is put up again blocking passage past Main Street.

Those with EE who enter after the rope is put back up are asked to go through a certain store at the end of Main Street where they show their ticket. They are then allowed access to the rest of the park.

At 10:00, again not earlier, the rope is again dropped and DL is open to everyone.

At least this is my experience.

You know, if it isn't your very first morning, I would maybe stop by and ask someone about that one ticket. Let them know you have four with EE and one that doesn't and ask them if you can purchase an early entry upgrade so that one person in your group can go with you... (I know you can't buy them but offering to "purchase" it shows that you really do want it). You never know, they may say "sorry, you are out of luck" or they may make an exception and give you one early entry pass for that day or something. It's worth a shot. I would explain to them why you have one pass that is different though.

I know when we were there years ago it was right before CA was open to the public for everyone to go and check out, but you could get these passes to get you into California Adventures through lots of places, but not right on site at Disneyland... well through some crazy circumstances we ended up short one pass to CA (I can't remember what happened, but there really was a verifiable crazy ticket story behind it all) and we all wanted to go over and check it out for just a few hours on one afternoon, and City Hall just gave me a freebie pass to go do that. I was so happy and super impressed. And I wasn't just trying to get "something for nothing"... I wish I could remember the circumstances of what had happened with that one ticket, but they were awesome about it and just totally accomodating to us in that situation.

I hate to tell people to "ask" because if everyone asked it would be a hayday, but where 4 people have them and one person doesn't... that's almost worth a "Year of Wishes Wish", lol!

If you are staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel then you all can get in to EE, even with a 2-day hopper.

I would plan on the person with the 2-day hopper not being able to enter during EE.

Thanks to all of you for your comments and suggestions. I'm not sure that we'd even be moving around to use early entry by he time Tuesday rolls around. But you never know:) I appreciate everyone's responses.

Hey...it never hurts to ask. I can do it on Sunday before it's even an issue. My experiences with Guest Services have always been great. Thanks for your help.

When we were there in August for EE at 7am (park opened to public at 8am), they just opened the gates. They did not open earlier than that and hold us at mainstreet rope drop. For those without EE on their ticket, they were asked to step over to a gate that was still closed and form a line there where they were allowed to enter at 8am.

On the mornings when there was no EE, we entered at 7:30am and then held at the ropedrop at mainstreet until the park opened at 8am.

Maybe they change things around to keep us on our toes.

Not sure about the EE since I've never done it.

As far as the gate openings: If the actual opening time is 9am or later, the gates open 1/2 hr. early to the general public and MS is open until the rope is dropped at the official opening time. If the park opens at 8am they don't open the gates until 8am. When we were just there the park opened at 10am. EE gates opened at 9am and then regular entry gates opened at 9:30am but if you don't have EE you are held on MS until the official opening(rope drop).
