How strict are they with serving minors drinks at Pleasure Island

That's odd, because there are quite a few people from around the world whose licenses would presumably look the same way, and I'm sure many of them go to PI. You would think the PI license checker folks would be told about or would have learned this. Maybe the person checking your licenses was new.

as i said, if he reads this, he'll know in the future...
and it was clearly a foreign drivers license...
perhaps other drivers licenses have the month spelled out...in this case it was just numbers....and since she was born in the early part of the month it works in reverse (if you're born after the 12th of a month, it doesn't work)...

I don't think that PI is where you will have a problem, they are a night spot and so are much more on top checking ID, however; it has been my experience when schools have senior week a WDW that more kids get served in epcot than anywhere else. So much so that I called an complained to management about how easy it was for 16 year olds to be served!

I never thought about Epcot, I think I will make them spend the whole time in the MK and ride it's a small world LOL

I'm sure it'll be fine. They are good boys and go out all the time together at home, and never ever do any of them drink. Personally I think it's just as easy to get a drink at home if they really want to as to find a way as on vacation. I just want to assure the parents that although they can get into the clubs, that Disney does have restrictions in place that they won't be served.

You would have to have a very good fake ID. I don't often get carded at PI anymore (I'm 30, DH is 36), but when I was about 26 I went and they didn't like the look of my license. They thought it was fake. Security actually took me aside, examined it closely, and pulled out a book full of photos of different ID cards to compare it. I don't know if they still do this or not, but you'd have to have a fairly good quality fake ID or a very lax cast member to get away with it.

but what happened was as follows:
my daughter will be 21 in October....but she has a backwards date on her drivers license (since we don't live in america the date shows the day first, then the month)...so due to the reverse order, it looked as though she was 21 to any american who doesn't know that everywhere else in the world, dates are reversed....

that was in the case of my 20 year old, almost 21 year old daughter.....when they carded her, her drivers license looked as if she's 21 years old and that's what they believed.....perhaps if they read this post, they'll know better in the future....doesn't matter, since the next time she's there, she'll actually be 21.....
I'm surprised they accepted her DL. I work in the bar industry in FL and we were taught that by FL law the only IDs to accept were passports, State issued DL and ID cards. Where I work we have been known to not accept some states DL because of fake IDs. Which states have holograms and which don't. LOL The most funniest fake ID we received you could actually pull off the contact paper(they had changed the date on the inside of the paper). The waitress brought it to me to verify it and I scratched at it and pulled the contact paper away. I told her to tell him we can't accept it. Laughing and showing people sitting at the bar what he had done. When she went to him, she pulled it back and said better luck next time. He was embarrassed enough to leave. We have it stapled to our wall of shame.
Our way of looking at it is this.
Its their job to try and our job to say no.

I was 32 and not only was I carded but, they guy thought I had a fake ID. Now, I do look younger than my age but not THAT young. They will be very, very strict with all the ID's there.

the DL is also ok....you can also use a foreign DL to rent a car as long as it's also written in English and has a picture.....

as i said, my son, who is only 18, was not carded....not only was he not carded....they didn't even ask him how old he is......they just assumed he was over 21.......at the time he looked much older than 18....very very tall, very thin, and with a very thick beard....
in fact, he just shaved off his fur face when we got home and he now looks about 10 years old to me....
so i guess boys who have the ability to grow a heavy beard need only do that to get by....
