How spectacular is Epcot during Flower & Garden Festival?

I have seen the photos, but was just wondering how nice the decorations/landscaping really are during the Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot? Does it add a lot to the overall Epcot experience? Or is it just a minor attraction so to speak?

I think Epcot is beautiful during the Flower and Garden festival. If you enjoy flowers it adds to the experience and it does get crowded.

It's very nice and the weather is usually perfect that time of year! Good concerts with the flower power concert series, several "special" exhibits, and generally a good atmosphere! We avoid the crowds the first week of May! I meant to say, we avoid the crowds by going the first week of May!!! :smooth:

We were there last week of April last year and are going back May 29-June 5 this year. Crowds weren't bad but it was after Spring Breaks but before schools let out for the summer.(My sister missed a week of school but she was a senior and only going 2 hours a day anyway.) One slightly unexpected thing is that it may be the "Epcot" Flower and Garden Show but all the parks had extra topiaries, flowers, etc. I thought some of the neatest ones were at MGM.

It was T shirt and shorts weather, we went to Blizzard Beach and really only got rained on/soaked on our last evening while we were at DTD. I wish we could go back earlier this year but I am back in school and I have the Derm system exam on May 27th. BTW, I've only been to the World during the Flower Fest and Dec so I wouldn't know what it looks like without decorations of some sort. Guess I'll find out in Oct( or maybe not since we're going for MNSSHP and Food and Wine Fest). Nice thing about being back in school is breaks.

I LOVE it!!!! The character topiaries are something to behold and so much fun to photograph. Take a "Garden Tour" while you are there and learn all about the hard work that goes into the display. Or get a reservation for the Mother's Day Brunch and enjoy!

Great weather, great crowd level, great atmosphere with flowers everywhere- this is an excellent time to go!!

I think the best parts are the topiaries and the rose display. I think it is around Canada and they have every species of rose. The smell is well...fragrent to say the least :rose:

You will not be disappointed. It is simply breathtaking. By the time we are done taking in all of the landscaping and flowers, we have little time left for the rides! :flower1:

I agree that it is amazing! We've been twice during that time and I would love to go back again.

A funny story...my DD who was 5 & my mom went to the Food Among the Flowers brunch (Grandmother/Granddaughter time) and we kept telling my DD that they were going to the "Flower Show". Once they got to the brunch and sat down to eat, my DD asked when the dancing flowers were going to come out. I guess her version of a flower show would have dancing flowers...I'm sure she thought that wouldn't be unusual at Disney!

I agree with what folks are saying. There are flower everywhere. The character topiaries are really cool. They have spinning hippo topiaries doing ballet (I think they are from Fantasia) It is great. :flower:

I agree. It's one of our favorite times of year at the park. The flowers are just amazing and it makes an already beautiful park that much more spectacular! I can't wait!

Has anyone here with allergies had a problem with the F&G Festival? We're going in April, and I would love to see this, but my SO has allergies and is worried it will be too overwhelming. Her doctor just started her on Clarinex last week, so we're hoping it will help.
