We're going to Disney 4 months and 3 weeks from now.

When should we start making our ADRs and start putting together the touring plans?

It looks like we are going to be at WDW at the same time. I am there from Sept 19 to Oct 9 (leaving Oct 10 early morning).
I have spent the last 10 days making and revising ADR's. I was able to get most of my first choices, however one restaurant I could not get into at all.

I would suggest that you start making your dining choices today. You might find that some of the times you want, as of today, are not available.
Remember Sept (early Oct) are "free dining for a great deal of people at the various WDW resorts and majority of those guests have already booked their ADR's.
:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I voted for this month- especially for your ADRs. That way you'll be sure to get the time and places you want to eat.

If you can come up with a basic 'what parks, what days' plan first- then you can figure out where you want to eat on those days. Once you secure your ADRs at those places, you can then go back and fine tune your tourning plans.

Happy planning!

You didn't have a selection for "you haven't done it already?!"...LOL!

Being a control freak and planner by nature...I like having this done ASAP. According to your signature, you're staying onsite, so you should be able to make your ADR's 180 days out. If you have popular choices, you may want to consider at least making those until you can hammer out the rest of your schedule. I would highly recommend having most of them made by 90 days out - the new dining plan is making the table service restaurants very popular.

Good luck! :sunny:

That's about the same time we're going - Sept. 22 - 30 - and we will also be at POFQ.

We've already made our ADR's, and have made a calendar of activities we hope to get done on certain days. Some activities are dictated by EMH's. I think you should start planning now, especially your ADR's for popular meals. We made ADR's for dinner at CRT on Sept. 25 and there were only two slots left for that day. Since you are staying on site you should have free dining, and so will a lot of other people. Plan now.

You should start making your ADR's ASAP!! The Disney Dining Plan has resulted in vastly increased popularity at Table Service Restaurants. Many folks who only ate at counter service establishments in the past are now eating in the sit down restaurants. ADR's open up 180 days before arrival, and depending on the season, many of the most popular restaurants are booked very quickly. We were there last week and they were not taking any walk ups.
Hope this helps.

Uh oh! :confused3 :sad2:

We've already figured out 4 of our 7 restaurants, we better start making ADRs and picking the other 3 restaurants! :hourglass

As some folks have suggested above, ASAP. In fact, I would have made reservations for meals very near to the beginning of the 180 day window.

Enjoy.
