How soon is too soon to start planning for an October trip with the current situation of ADRs?

Getting around to planning Victoria's 10th trip for mid-October. Will want to probably get as many ADRs as possible (BB/Napa). Stay onsite (GCH/DLH). A bit concerned about the admission restrictions (but I've heard if linked to your onsite stay, you are largely guaranteed to get admission). LL, probably gonna need to be a must to maximize the trip as well I presume.

The only restriction is having a park ticket and park reservation. Reservations can start filling up about a month out, but if you're planning ahead, shouldn't be an issue. ADRs are available 60 days before the date. No special booking when staying onsite, so everyone is competing at 6am pacific time at the 60 day mark.

LLs look like they'll be useful at DL as local crowds typically don't use them so there's greater availability throughout the day.

Enjoy your trip planning!

I think you are correct about the on-site "hotel bucket" being a near-guarantee. I personally wouldn't push it too far, but you shouldn't have an issue. You can see the current buckets here and note the Disney Hotels still have full availability through Spring Break season. Maybe track this in the weeks to come to see if they ever X out any dates.

For ADR's, I'm not up to speed if "everything" is dropping at 60 days now. But we have some family planning and she realized it was day 59 and was not having much luck with "anything". So I think it can still be erratic as to when ADR capacity is released.

Have you looked into dining alerts? I'm not sure if we can post the website here. But if you search, there are basically two main services out there. One of them allows a handful of free alerts before paying. If you set them up for "lunch" or "dinner", as opposed to a specific time, it's a safe bet you will get the alert and know they just dropped for that restaurant. Sometimes it happens overnight, of course.

Glad you are back in planning mode. I miss the detailed reports! Enjoy :thumbsup2

This week is 60 days out from our May trip and I was able to grab ADRs for everything so far except BlueBayou. But I think that is because Pirates is going to have an extensive maintenance during that time. I found that res go fast at the 6 am Pacific time for most things. However, I was able to get Carthay dinner res late in the day so it did not book up as quickly as some things.
Just set your alarm for 5:59 am, know what you want for that day and you should be able to grab it.

Whoa Nellie!! It's surprising things go so fast.

Similar situation (except for at the end of April) though for some (Carthay Circle, Napa Rose, Lamplight Lounge) they wouldn't show any available spots for 2 people but if I switched it to 3 people, spots showed up that I could book and then modify back to a 2 person reservation. When modifying them I wasn't sure if the spots wouldn't show up (is it doing a new search? maybe not...) but I was always able to keep the reservations at the same time but with the updated guest count. That was with not booking super early in the day either (often 9-10 AM PST after realizing "oh yeah, I need to book for April 2x... I should do that.")

Trader Sam's was the most difficult to get and I've been trying to see if I could get a better time/date and I wasn't able to get a spot for Oga's Cantina but suspect we should be able to do a walk up for 2 at some point in the trip without too much of a worry ("Do or do not. There is no...", "Let me stop you there little guy, it would be cool if we could get in... there's a tiki mug I want to get... but it's not the end of the world if we don't get in... okay?", "try.", "Yeah, I just said I would try.")
