your daughters discounts wont go into effect until after she receives her id which is after traditions class (first paid day of work, usually day 3) therefore if you are trying to use the discounts when you go for the program, you wont be able to on the first few days.

Do you know how much of a discount it is for the resorts?

Cast Members and Employees of The Walt Disney Company may book Walt Disney World Resort Hotel Rooms at up to a 50% Discount. In order to get this discount, the Cast Member/Employee must be staying in the hotel room themselves.

In addition, Walt Disney World Resort and other Florida-site Cast Members may book rooms for friends and family at up to a 40% Discount, up to five times per calendar year. The Cast Member does not have to be staying in the room to take advantage of this offer. However, they must present a Cast ID issued by Walt Disney World Access Control to the Front Desk of the Resort prior to the arrival date, either in person or by fax.

Wow! That is pretty good. My daughter checks in on May 27th so that means we can not get a discount until May 29 or do they give her an ID once she checks in? When you say 5 times in a calender year, does that mean 5 nights or does each time mean however many nights for that stay? Did confuse you?lol

It might actually be several weeks. She'll receive her Cast ID during her Traditions class, held several days after arrival. Combined with summer availability and the fact that the Cast ID must be presented at least several days prior to Guest arrival, it might be a few weeks before she could actually book a room.

And the Family & Friends Discount may be used for 5 reservations per year, regardless of how long each reservation stay is.

She can book the room once she gets access to the HUB. She'll get HUB access during her OJT (On the Job Training) which could happen on her day 4, 5, or 6. I personally got HUB access on day 5.

If there were still rooms available that day she could book it then and take her ID that evening. I never took my ID in early, I just show up with the family members when they check-in. You have the option to take your ID in early if you're not available when your guests are arriving.

You guys are awesome! I will just have to book somewhere else and maybe the last couple of days we are there, we can book a disney resort. Something spectacular that we wouldn't normally book.

I just saw the second half of your question... I don't think I saw an answer...

she can get people into the park for free when she recieves her maingate pass - I believe she'll have that mailed to her after she completes two weeks of the program.
