Hi everybody.

I am curious about the smoke from the fires affecting Disney World. I am traveling with my kids one of whom is an asthmatic. Should we keep his nebulizer (machine that dispenses his meds through an air compressor) with us in the parks? Is there a place to use it since it must be plugged in. He doesn't use it often, in fact hasn't had an attack in almost 8 weeks.

Someone who just got back please let us know!! It will be very much appreciated!

9 days and counting!

Hi,

Were just back so I can report first-hand on this.

The levels of smoke varied from day to day, depending on the direction of the wind. Some days there was no smoke at all, other days you couldn't see further than an arms length away!

Even if you opt for an indoor ride the smoke is sucked in and circulated through the air con system - very smelly.

We came back on Sunday 3rd June, so I don't know if the sitaution has improved since then.

Perhaps you could post the message on the Disabilities board for advice.

We were there 6/2-6/9. I never saw any fire(s) or experienced any smoke! Not at all! We were at all 4 parks and went to USF & IOA as well, nothing at all, anywhere!

IMO, I would rather be safe than sorry in this situation. Last year my husband was on a nebulizer and we took it everywhere. You could simply lock it in a locker for use if necessary, unless his attacks are so bad that 1/2 hour would be a problem. You could plug it in at the first aid stations, or even baby care stations, I would think. Anyone know?
