Staying at POR. We have a breakfast ADR planned at CM and then planning to spend the day at MK. I can't believe it is next week already.

Should we

1) Take the WDW bus/monorail etc to get there (if you suggest this, what is best way?)
2) Drive our car to the CR and park there. Leave car there and take monorail to MK.
3) Park our car at MK and take monorail to CR.

Opinions?? :confused3

Thanks in advance.

It would depend on what time your ADR is. I think the buses start running 45 minutes to 1 hour before the parks open. If you have time, I would take the bus to MK and either walk or take the monorail. But if your ADR's are really early, it may be easier to drive your car. I'm not sure if they will let you leave your car at CR all day, so to be sure, I would park at MK and again either walk over or take the monorail. (It's a short walk to the CR if you do not have small children). Good Luck and have fun!:)

You have a few options:

1. You could take the bus from POR to the MK, then take the resort Monorail to the Contemporary and back after breakfast.

2. You could park your car at the TTC and take the Monorail to the Contemporary and back to MK.

3. You could park your car at the Contemporary, have breakfast, then move your car to the TTC and take the Monorail or Ferry to MK. You will be given a 3 hour guest parking pass at the Contemporary when you check in at the guard gate. Only people staying at the resort are allowed to park there all day and you risk getting towed after your 3 hour parking pass has expired.

Hope this is helpful.

Since you're staying at POR I would take the bus to the Magic Kingdom and from there walk to the Contemporary. In fact if you tell the bus driver you have an ADR that morning at Chef Mickey's they might drop you off at the Contemporary, however that is not a 100% guarantee.

Unless you did not know this it's illegal to park you're car all day at the Contemporary after a meal if you plan to visit the Magic Kingdom. It's not fair to the guests who stay at the Contemporary and others have reported of them towing cars who decided to try that, so it's not worth the risk.

We had good luck catching the bus from POR to the MK and then the monorail to the Contemporary. It didn't take too long and we were able to make our reservation time with no problem. After we spent a fun morning and early afternoon at the MK, we hopped the bus back to POR.

Driving to the Contemporary directly may be faster, but as previous posters mentioned, the parking pass is limited to 3 hours and you'll have to move your car after breakfast.

Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy POR and Chef Mickeys -- my family loved the resort and had a blast at breakfast.

Thanks all for letting me know about the hotel rule. Our ressie is just before 9am, so I think we might just take the bus out there. Good to know!

We have a 7a.m. reservation at CM and the CSR at Disney Dining told us to take the bus to Downtown Disney, then take another bus from there to the Contemporary Resort. Not sure if that information was accurate, but that's what we were told to do - maybe it'll be helpful to you. If anyone reading this can verify that this is correct and can forewarn us that this is terribly wrong, please please notify! Thanks! :goodvibes

Do not take the bus to DTD, it won't even be running at 7am. Check with your hotel front desk the day before your ADR, they will let you know what time to be at the bus stop for the early morning bus for character breakfast, usually about 6:30-6:50am. If for some reason they tell you that there is not a bus early enough you could take a taxi(may be your only choice). It also never hurts to ask if the hotel can provide you with a ride, not likely, but it never hurts to ask.
Never trust the CM on the phone when it comes to transportation questions, always ask in person at your hotel.

I would take the bus over to the Magic Kingdom and then walk over to the Contemporary. You could also take the monorail. Actually when we went in August, we were the only people on the bus to the Magic Kingdom since our reservations were for 8:30 am I think. We got off the bus and started walking towards the Contemporary. The bus driver asked where we were going and we told him we had reservations at Chef Mickey's. Since there was no one on the bus, he told us he would just drive us over!

Holey moley...wrong on so many points!!! Just about the only time you would want to take a DTD bus and then transfer is late at night when the park buses have stopped running.
There are very early morning buses to get the resort guests to the different breakfasts. If you have an early morning ADR at Chef Mickey's, 'Ohana, GF, or anywhere inside the MK, just be out at the resort bus stop very early. You should plan on about an hour or so before your seating time. The buses are not as frequent as the regular buses, so if you just miss one, it could be a longish wait for the next one. When you get to MK, if you are going to the Contemporary, just walk there. When you get off the bus, follow everyone else, but when you get to the end of the bus lane area (to your right) you will go right where everyone else is going left. This sidewalk, which runs beneath the monorail, will take you right to the CR...about 8 mins. If you are going to the Polynesian or GF, just hop on the resort monorail.
Hope that helps somewhat.

We had reservations at Chef Mickeys our first morning. We were staying at POP, when we got on the bus to MK there was only one other family. The bus driver took us right to the Comtempory and the other family to the Poly. Which was very nice. If he hadn't we would have taken the monorail over the the Comtempory
