How short is too short?

The grandparents are taking the kiddos for 2 nights / 3 days.

We would have to fly both ways. We could probably find an early flight the first day (landing at 1 - hotel around 2:30) and take a late flight back (6 pm) so it would be more like 1 full day and two half days.

For an adult only trip - which means staying out later, not having to get back to the hotel for 7 pm, does this make sense? Or is it just too short?

We did the exact trip two weeks ago. We had DVC points that were expiring at the end of Jan (use them or lose them). We both could only get a couple of days off from work and the kids had school so it was 3 days and 2 nights adults only. It worked out great. We took the first flight out from Hartford on Southwest on a Tuesday and then took the last flight back on Thursday. Honestly, it was one of the best/relaxing trips I have ever done. We knew we couldn’t do a lot so we focused more on relaxing, having great nights out and great meals; although we did hit all four parks (which were empty, by the way this time of year). The weather was amazing all three days – sun and low 80’s. Of course having a Magic Kingdom view at Bay Lake Tower made it even more special. We watched Wishes from our balcony then changed and went for a late dinner at the California Grill. I wouldn’t hesitate doing a trip like this again. Having DVC and annual passes makes it more feasible. For this trip we had Southwest credits and a free flight so the biggest expense was probably airport parking. I still love the longer trips and trips with the kids but a quick adult only getaway is pretty freakin’ cool.

I would go for just an hour, if that is all I can swing.
