I am debating on riding this. I have ridden RnR once and trouble with the speed at the beginning. I don't like big drops either. I do love Space Mountain and have no problems with it. How is the big drop at the end and is the speed comparable to Rockin Rollercoaster? Thanks for any info you can send my way!

Even though I plan on riding this in October, I would also like to know more details about the ride. I can't seem to get a clear explanation of whether or not the ride has a straight down 80 ft drop, or is it more of a gradual drop? Speed I can handle, but big drops i am not a fan of....and is the drop in the dark or not?? Someone please come along and help the chickens...

The whole ride is slower than RnR. As far as the drop, I didn't think it was bad but you can see the drop before riding. Checking it out for yourself will give you the most information about handling it. There are no drops that you can't see. What you can't see ifs the backwards portion of the ride.

There is no "big drop at the end".

There IS one, but I won't say WHERE it is.
;)

If you can do Space Mtn. (Space Mtn. is very ROUGH-riding), EE should not "scare" you.

EE is very smooth and actually quite entertaining.

See this:

But I guess the TEST will be for YOU to ride it and report back to us.
:goodvibes

It's a family coaster - a little slower than RnRC and lacking inversions, but unlike RnRC, it does have a mid-sized "drop" and a nice helix. It also has traditional lift hills instead of a LIM (powered) launch like RnRC.

EE is MUCH smoother than either RnR or Space Mountain. There are a couple of jolts (when the ride stops on the incline), but unless a little Yeti roaring frightens you, the coaster part of it shouldn't be a problem. RnR gives me a headache because my head gets banged around in that overhead contraption and Space can be jerky, but EE is total enjoyment IMO.

We just got back from Disney and rode it while we were there. I had to laugh hearing the people screaming down the hill that you can see of EE. To me, it didn't even tickle my stomach. Just a fun smooth ride. We saw little kids riding and loving it. It was a great ride and the Yeti? He's just too cool....that's all I will say on him!

I just got back from Disney this morning and got to ride Everest last Wednesday night during EMH. I'm a big fat chicken when it comes to roller coasters and will only ride BTMRR at WDW (no Space Mountain or RnRc for moi), and yet even I loved it. The drop isn't straight down, it's curved. Very smooth ride as others said. The only part that bothered me was *SPOILER ALERT for those who haven't ridden/read much and want to be surprised" going backwards. That in and of itself didn't scare me because I expected it, but it felt like I was shooting straight up into space. But I'd ride it again, definitely. And fyi, I laughed through most of it, surprising everyone I was with (not to mention me!). :rotfl2:

Thanks so much for all of your replies. They helped, and I think I've decided to give it a try.
