In the back of my mind Ive always wondered if something like the Orlando shooting could or would happen inside of Disney. Does anyone know what Disney does to prevent these kinds of things from happening? anywhere from Disney Springs, to the parks, to the resorts?

No where is safe, if someone decides to do harm, it will happen anywhere, anyplace. IMO most of the security measures are visible to make the public feel better and to keep them spending money.

I agree with the previous poster and I would add that you should be aware of your surroundings, look around for exists if you are in a confined space such as a theatre, and report any suspicious behavior or circumstances.

On the Theme Parks thread, someone linked an article on People.com that said the shooter's ex wife said she thinks the shooter was considering targeting Disney Springs, since there is no "security" there.

You are far more likely to die in a car crash than by terrorist action. Does this prevent you from getting in your car?

With the understanding that the numbers have increased, between 2004-2013, 80 Americans were killed in terror attacks. If we include data from 9/11/2001 onward, the number increases to 3,066.

There were 29,989 fatal car accidents in the United States in 2014 alone, in which 32,675 deaths occurred (source: Insurance Institute for Highway Safety).

So even understanding that the 3,066 number does not include yesterday's attack, and does not include non-terror-affiliated gun violence, it's still pretty clear that cars are more dangerous by the numbers.

but does anyone KNOW what Disney does for security? eye in the sky? I know they half heartedly check bags. do they have under cover security? do they profile? idk
