I was thinking about switching from the Poly (sigh) to a 2 bedroom villa at boardwalk or beach club some my husbands side of the fam. could stay with us. We are going Mar.2-8 and both resorts have no availability on the website. Are they really that popular(I know I am checking way late too) or do you think its just faulty info on their website :confused3

The villas are timeshare rentals with only a few set aside for cash reservations. Usually all the timeshares are gone by 7 months out at the latest. I reserve one every September(during one of the slowests times of the year) and I always reserve 11 months out.

We did a big trip at a 2 bedroom villa...OKW to be exact, first time at that villa and 2 bedroom deal... Stayed on money thru Disney...

We were 3 different family, related with infant... We wanted 3 separate rooms at either WL or PO FQ but both we booked and they gave us a ridiculous price in this villa.... Bottom line, never again... Location location location means more than cost... We like being close to a park, especially the MK, also we did not need a kitchen... No one was going to cook, conflicts with AC, done wanted cool some not so much... OKW villas most don't have elevators and with an infant and stuff we were on 3 floor... Miserable each way....

We said if we ever do another group trip, either 3 separate rooms or 3 villa studios... Everyone has their own space, can control climate and a place to get away from each other during the stay.... I'd pick the Poly though I'm not a fan of their high room rates.... Check out WL, deluxe.. MK area, boat to MK, a lot cheaper, more compact resort under one roof .

Well, yes, they're popular, but because they're DVC resorts, probably only about 10% of the inventory there is available for cash reservations at any given time. At a very small resort like BCV, that's just a handful of 2 bedroom villas.

It never hurts to keep checking, but know that you're working with a small pool of rooms to start with.

Have you considered just getting another room at the Poly? Sure, it's nice to have the kitchen and washer/dryer in the villa, but privacy can be a good thing, too. :)

I just checked the DVC site and there is no availability at BCV, and BWV only has 1 night open that I found on a quick search. I didn't check all views...

This means your chances are slim, but people cancel. Call, and have them really look for you.

What about Bay Lake? Is that available for cash? That is a fantastic resort.

I tried booking a 2 bedroom villa at WL, BLT, BCV and BWV for July (back in December) and the ONLY 2 bedroom villas left for a cash booking were at AKV. So I'd venture to say they are snapped up pretty quickly by DVC and then what is left is booked quickly as well.

Edit: I didn't check Saratoga Springs or OKW because once the CM said AKV was available I grabbed it.
