How planning my Disney trip nearly led to a fire in my house!

BFF and I are taking a trip in a few weeks with both of our DDs. She e-mailed me this morning to say that airfare to come back one day later was only $20 per person....so I decided to pull out my planning folder and check our plans.

I opened my folder on the kitchen counter and pulled out some pages that were stapled together. I was leaning over the counter, flipping the pages over when all of a sudden I realized there was a giant flame right next to my head! The pages had flipped over on top of the candle I was burning on the kitchen counter.

I screamed and started blowing frantically to get the flame out....but honestly, my first thought was, "No, no, no, no! I can't lose this information!"

And there you go. The priorities of a true Disser.

As soon as I put out the flame and made sure that I could still read my trip plans I called BFF to tell her what happened. "I'll be posting this on the disboards."

oops! I meant $20 MORE per person! I probably would have set them on fire myself if the airfare was just $20!

EXACTLY! Which is why I just didn't mention it to DH.

DD saw me looking through the planning notebook yesterday. She noticed the burned papers in the folder..."Ummm....Mom? Did those papers catch on FIRE?!?!?"

So I explained the whole thing to her...she's 8 and she just at me.

Stories like this is why I love the DIS.

My daughter would have grounded me and took over the Disney folder. She practically plans everything now as it is anyway and she is only 10.

I am glad all your info is okay and oh yeah that you and your house is fine.
