How Old were you when you were able to buy into the DVC?

HI Everyone! My boyfriend and I bought into the DVC last May. We were only 20 and 21 at the time. We thought it might be fun to see if there were any other young DVCers on the Dis!

Probably could have, and should have bought sooner but didn't take the plunge until I was 38 and DH was 39

Not to be overly picky, but the categories make people have to randomly pick a category if they are the age that falls into two, i.e., age 22, age 30, age 35, etc. 18-22, 23-29, 30-34, 35-49, etc. would be better.

First wanted to back mid 20's - but "life" got in the way (not that's a bad thing at all) - now primary mortgage, and 3 kids later we're both 37.

But I'm buying to benefit my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well. Lord willing, my two oldest grandchildren (almost 4) will be almost 40 when SSR contracts expire, and they and their younger sibs will have been able to make Disney memories with their own kids. ('Course, by the time it gets to that generaltion, they may have to either add on, or take shorter trips!)

Anybody in the process of buying right now is welcome to join us in the "Waiting for ROFR Support Group" thread. Of course, those buying direct from Disney aren't dealing with ROFR, but we would be excited for you, anyway.

I was 21 when I bought in. suprisingly I was in the financial position to do so. So hopefully I will be able to get all my 50 years out of DVC.

I was the same!!! Luckily I had no student loans for college which helped a lot. I loveeee the DVC tho!!! My boyfriend always makes fun of me cause he tries to get us to go to other places! But there is no place but disney for me! lol

about 5 years ago...not able financially. Then decided to have DD, like we could afford that!!!

Three years later decided to have DS and still feeling DVC was out of reach!

True Story

Chapter 1: 'Bout 2 months ago I had a chance meeting during an oil change and a DVCer in the parish I work in raved about it. Spoke with DW and she says we're just not able to do it--okay.

Chapter 2: 1 week later after my DVC "sales pitch," DW goes get her hair done. Hairdresser went to WDW for Mardi Gras and bought DVC spur of the moment, bragged and did her sales pitch to DW. Comes home and tells me we should really look at it because she had gotten $$$ figures from hairdresser and NOW thinks we can do it!

Chapter 3: Within 2 weeks I research DVC using the DIS and these boards and we are now AKV owners--and unbelievably happy that we did We are turning 30 (each) by the end of the year and feel that ourselves and children and grandchildren (much later on) will get many years of wonderful memories from the investment!!
