How old was your child when s/he hit 40 inches?

my girls were 4 when they finally reached the 40 inches. they were so excited to know that for their b-day trip they could ride everything they had been wanting for a while

My almost 5 year old son is on the short side and he barely passed the 40" line, but he was so stoked to ride all the "big" rides! He did get a little scared of the darkness of ToT, but he loved the drop so much he asked to ride it several more times.

DD was 40" a few weeks before her 3rd birthday, hit 44" by 4.5 years and looking like 48" by 5.5yrs in time for our December trip.

The first trip at 40" (when she was just under 3) she just did BTMRR after that she has always ridden everything she could. The only thing she didn't like was dinasoar!

DS hit 40" around his third birthday. He will be 4 next month and he was 43.5" when I measured him last week. He has been begging to ride Space Mountain next time we go, but we'll see how he does on Big Thunder before we try it. He rode Splash last month and LOVED it. We asked him several times while waiting if he was sure about going, but he was adamant. He was holding onto me and DH for dear life with his eyes shut tight on the big drop, but he wanted to go again when we were done! If he's moderately adventurous, I think your son will love it.

My 4 year old was 38 inches at his 4 year checkup this June...hoping he hits 40 before our trip in May! He grew 3 inches between 3 and 4 so hopefully he will grow at least 2 between 4 and 5!

My girls were all a few months shy of three when they hit 40". That said, the dd that is 8 and 2 months is 4'10", so take this with a grain of salt!

DD was ~41"? at 3y3mo when we first went, but for whatever reason, she couldn't seem to hit the Goofy's Sky School at DL (40"). She hit all the other 40" ones easily. She was super excited when we went last year at 4y3mo and she could ride it.

I'm hoping my shrimpie 2yo will be tall enough to ride in 15mo for our next trip - he is 36" right now. He's a daredevil and would be bummed if DD could and he couldn't go.

My 2.5 year old is 37" tall. So i think she'll be 3ish before she's 40 inches- that's fine by me! She's a daredevil but I would be nervous with her on the big rides. She's too little to understand that you have to stay seated and can't get out and grab whatever lol

My ds was about 2.5 when he hit 40" / is 6 yrs old now and at almost 50"...soooo takes after dh and not me! ;)

My dd rode splash and thunder etc 2 months before she turned 3, so she must have hit the 40" mark around 2 1/2 as she was an inch or so bigger than the height requirement.

The only one she didn't ride was ToT

3 years 4 months and 15 days haha. It is a huge milestone at our house. There is often cake and balloons accompanying this occasion. :-)

Even with shoes I won't allow my kiddos to ride the 40+ ride until they are 40+ barefoot on tile floor. Just want to avoid any disappointments or confusion.

I'm so happy she hit it just in time for our October getaway. :-) YAY!

My youngest was well over 6 before she hit 40". I remember being at our local fair when she was almost 5, and she couldn't go on the little motorcycles that go around in a circle because she wasn't 36". She said, "Mom, there are babies in diapers on that ride!"

I got lucky that she's not terribly daring anyway. We plan to go to Disney in January, and she will be 7. This will be her first time being able to really go on any rides. I'm pretty sure she'll be a teenager before she can go on the
48" rides!

We have a trip coming up in October. It will be the third trip for our son, who will be two months shy of 4 years old, to be exact. I measured him in February, and he was 39 1/4, so I assumed he'd hit that "magical" 40 inches by October. I haven't measured him lately, but I'm going to tonight! :thumbsup2 In the meantime, while I'm procrastinating at work, I was wondering what age other kids were when they were finally able to do those 40 inch rides. He really, really, really wants to do Splash this year!

Not sure, but when my youngest ds was 3 years and 9 months he was able to go on all the 40 in rides so sometime before then. :)

Not being a judgy bear but taking a < 3yo on ToT? That's almost too much for some adults! I couldn't even imagine taking my 3.5 year old on it even if she were tall enough...which she isn't. She's a shortly. Barely 37in now...we go in 23 days.

My youngest went on it when he was 3yrs 9months. It was his favorite ride at Disney. He still remembers it 3 years later and told me we are going to ride it at least 10 times this trip. It actually isn't an intense ride compared to other drop rides.

Not sure when specifically, but both of my kids could ride ToT on their first visits. ODS was 23 months and YDS was 20 months. I grow em big. We are now waiting on my niece to hit 48 inches. She is just about an inch shy. She is 4...

Yea! Your kids are daredevils. I still can't get dd14 on it...lol

DS was 40" on the dot at his 4 yr old check up. (in July) Somehow, I don't think he'll grow 4 inches by the time we go in January, which is a shame since he's a daredevil and wants to ride everything.

DS is almost there at 4.5 and I hope he gets to 40" by May when we go on our trip because he loves rollercoasters!
